I know it's been a bad year but just how bad has it been? Looking at the steelers wins so far this year outside of there division they have beat Tampa bay, Atlanta, Carolina, and the Jags. Not one decent team.
I was shocked when I seen this and thought it was bad but didnt realize it was this bad. Although they have been in almost every game they have found ways to lose most of them. This year just cant end soon enough and with new leadership and the players more dedicated in 2019 I still believe this core of players can make one last run.

"core of players can make one last run"

While I hope you're right I disagree. IMO the Steelers we know and love under Ben are done. Just like when Bradshaw grew older and retired we are headed to years of average at best:(

I think Ben can still take this team on a Super Bowl run...next year. What is it they say about a chain? It’s only as strong as it’s weakest link. Same holds true for a team. Our weak link is Mike Tomlin. The team needs a head coach who can game plan for each opponent. Attack their weaknesses and put your own team in the best position to win. Mike Tomlin is not that person. How long will it take Art to admit that? Probably too long I’m afraid.

The only way bee takes us to the SB is if he learns to care about throwing picks .He is so reckless with the ball and that will kill us against the better teams . Hell it kills us against the weaker teams. QB's will throw picks, but the top ones protect the ball . Ben doesn't protect the ball at all, he's very careless .That needs to change .

There's lots of other things that need to change too obviously

It appeared that Ben had his most focused offseason this past year. The end result is an inconsistent year with too many turnovers. I think father time has caught up to him, a little twitchy in the pocket, with tunnel vision with his receivers. If they address the horrible defense with the draft, that will take years to pay dividends. I don't see them making a run unless they somehow got some stud FA on D, maybe a few.

Ben is still a qb capable of getting a team to the sb. But hes not that guy that can carry an average to above average team far anymore. He's no longer a top 5 elite qb. He is still good and I'd rather have him the 85% of the league but he isnt the same.

I think Ben is just very confident in his throwing ability. Honestly, I’d prefer that over being timid, hesitant or indecisive. Sometimes the opposing defense beats him, sometimes his target isn’t on the same page, and (mostly?) he makes a bad throw. But I don’t think he doesn’t give a crap where it goes.

None of this should have been surprising.

I think "over confident". Squeezing it into triple coverage, lofting it with a hope it clears the defense. He thinks he can do it all, and often does, but this also causes lots of miscues and mistakes that are tough to overcome. All the mistakes in the red zone this year have cost us, and I think it is a product of an "I am just that good" attitude.
