Exactly.. we went into SB XL as the 6 seed. Get in and there is a chance especially with a HOF QB

I'm not saying they should try to miss the playoffs, by intentionally losing. But if they do miss the playoffs, they're probably better off in the long run. This team has no shot in the playoffs, you need a decent defense to win in the playoffs. This defense couldn't stop the Raiders offense that had a bunch of no names on the field today .

Stop living in the past, that SB XL team had Porter and Troy on defense, guys who could make a play when needed. This current defense is garbage, nobody can step up make a play at the end of the game.

When you win the turnover battle and the other team has a mile and half of penalties and we still loose ..there is no reason to even mention playoffs

It’s the players, it’s not the coaches!

Not one player on our defense would start on the 2008 defense. None!

If missing the playoffs is so great, how Cle, Buff and the Jets are never better off for missing the playoffs year after year??

    Denver loss was bad

    Chargers loss was worse

Raiders loss i have no words to descibe it , but there is a trend afoot

What makes you think anyone in the Steelers' organization has any clue who the best CB is?

I can't root for the Steelers to loose but if they do miss the playoffs, it may sting less with the hope of changes being made and of course, better draft position.

If they do miss the playoffs and MT and Butler are both retained, can't tell you how disappointing that will be.

Mission accomplished! I think we saw enough of the Dobbs and Samuels show to not want to see the younger players any sooner than we need to. Hell, not many of the older players we want to see either.

And ironically maybe the best defensive play of that whole playoff/SB run was made by our 2nd year QB. We don't need better players -we need some Pimply Dan mojo!

Samuels did fine as a pass receiver, but they definitely need an RB2 for the running game.

It seems the Steelers pick 'hybrid' or 'project' players for defense. They seldom pick a player who has the size, talent, and experience to play the position he was drafted to play.

I hate to say this, but the Browns are on their way to becoming a respectable team in this league, and the Steelers are on their way to becoming the old Browns.

At least you have a chance at a better player when drafting earlier, instead of being stuck with a scrub like Artie when drafting late.

For whatever reason, given past history. The Steelers seem to respond when the back is really up against the wall. They also seem to fold when they think they are just going to beat everybody and get cocky. This is going to be the ultimate wall. If they can't climb it, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs, nor should we want them there.

Your facing two playoff teams with 2 of the top 5 QB's in the NFL. Go see what your made of. If you beat both of those teams, we deserve to go. If not then we don't. Pretty plain and simple.

Sounds good Troy, black and white (OK colorized for effect)- no nonsense - you're almost sounding as rational as another great philosopher who would counter with: [IMG]
