Samuels isn't a heavier load RB, mostly a pass catcher?

    Does Ridely get the start?

Ridley although I would like to see a bit more of Samuels. I think Samuels takes a bit longer to get up to full speed than Conner or Ridley.

They both aren’t that good. I miss having Williams as a backup. He was great when Bell was out. Now we have two very unimpressive backs for the next couple weeks. High ankle sprains take weeks to heal. This is what I feared, because we don’t have a good backup and Bell didn’t comeback. We’ve almost always had a good backup running back, but not this year. Ridley’s been around and Samuels is a rookie I think. It should be entertaining!

The way the last few weeks have been the title of thread should read, "who TOKES the rock." Steeler fans may resort to this:)

Actually I think whoever is in the back field for us will have a much better day then we are expecting. I need a good Sunday and it's possible, Steeler W, Raven L, and Cowboy W (for personal reasons)

i think samuels and ridley splits time. at some point during game if one gets into a groove then theyll out carry the other back. its definitely possible that we will be throwing alot. ben will definitely be getting that 5k passing this year. hopefully we get great work out of both backs. weve heard samuels pass catching abilities so hopefully after this weekend were talking about the next great steelers player

I have to agree with the run by committee thought. It's not my favorite way for them to play, but that's what I think will happen.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it split up on the different drives. Ben likes throwing those check downs to the RB a lot. So I could Samuels getting more snaps than Ridley, and being that Samuels has seen more game action leans me to believe that Samuels will see more snaps than Ridley.

That's fine as long as Ben doesn't throw the ball to the other team .

I think Samuels will catch around 8 passes this week, and have 10 rushing attempts.

They should be able to run a little. The Raiders' run defense is terrible. There is no way they can ask Samuels to be a lead back. The guy didn't even do that in college. That means 10-15 carries for Ridley and pray he holds on to the ball.

I think we win Sunday, but not without drama. I predict that we need (and get) a 4th quarter comeback.

I think that was happening no matter if JC was there or not. His injury just makes it official.

The Steelers (7-4-1) will roll into Oakland with rookie Jaylen Samuels, veteran Stevan Ridley and Trey Edmunds, who was promoted from the practice squad for depth. This week's practices will determine how Tomlin distributes the workload.

"Sometimes the division of labor is revealed to you through that work," Tomlin said. "We've got a great deal of confidence in Ridley; we've got a great deal of confidence in Jaylen -- particularly as of late with Jaylen. He's a guy that's been on the rise in recent weeks. ... Trey's a guy who's played some pro football. We were excited about getting him on our practice squad when we acquired him. We'll put him in uniform and give him an opportunity to be a contributor as well."

I doubt it. The Raiders' run defense is awful. I think with a healthy Conner, they would have taken advantage of it.

Honestly, man, you're putting too much faith in this system.

The Broncos were horrible against the run, too. How did that game plan turn out?

I don't have much faith in anything about the Steelers right now, but I do know the absence of Conner all but guarantees they will be throwing way too much.

This would be a good idea. It wouldn't work against the Patriots or Saints, but maybe the Raiders.
