I'm still waiting for your RB solution, but I know you are too stupid to have one

I was talking about OLBs ....that's why we can and have gone with 3 because we have guys available. Didn't we see what happens a few years back when you call guys sitting at home.

Ridley is not being cut for Rogers or Ola. Someone else would be the fall guy.. If Eli does start to practice and impresses enough the likely cut would be Hunter. If Ola impresses enough to earn a spot on the 53 it could be one of the Allens or another player on D....

Eli is on the PUP, he still waiting for the team to start his 21 day clock. He'll most likely stay there as Insurance since Switzer is playing well. If his clock does start it'll be either due an WR injury or at seasons end ( wk 15,16,17 ) to protect against wr injury in playoff season.

Ola is on IR, will most likely return, due to lack of depth @ OLB but being a rookie and missing 10 games dont expect much, it'll be due to injury and he'll be limited if he plays any defensive snaps.

If he returns and no-one heads off to the IR they'll cut a "bottom of the roster "player. Who are these guys? ILB Thomas, CB B. Allen,Burns, S M.Allen/ Dangerfield, OL Banner, TE Grimble, RB Ridley, & WR DHB/ Hunter.
Remove Thomas & DHB Brian Allen ( ST reasons ) , Remove Burns because of draft status, Hunter they like as does Ben, Same for Grimble especially with McDonalds injury history. Dangerfield has ST value and is productive when given Defensive snaps.

This leaves Banner who is 9th OL but Gilbert is still hurt and Okafor who's a rookie. He is safe for now. Marcus Allen, a safety they like but will be snatched up if he's released, he's safe as i believe they dont want to lose him this early in his career. That leaves Ridley.... a 3rd string RB that wont be signed if released, a phone call away to be resigned if an injury occurs. Also, if he is signed by another team, there's a RB on the PS AND 85 unsigned FA RB at home praying for a call any day now.

This is my reasoning... I have been wrong before because I have NO Stub from the Club!!!!

Ben liked Landry, too. Really carries no weight. There is almost no chance Ridley will be the cut. Several of the guys you mentioned would go before him.

Ben didn't throw to Landry who was beat out in camp.
To say there's no chance a 3rd string RB can be cut is silly.

Who would be cut and why? Several

I said almost no chance. You don't cut your best back up RB because you hope he is a phone call away. That would be true silliness.

Dangerfield has been a saloon door on the cut list. Grimble could be let go as they have Hodges. Hunter as mentioned. Ben likes throwing to him? Really? Barely does.

Saying Ridley is the best b/u rb disqualifies your whole response. Saying Grimble can go because you have Hodges validates that disqualification. Dangerfield has proven his current value.

Says the guy who thought Bostic would be cut. You’re the one who pitches crazy ideas and acts like everyone else is.

So who is better on the team than Ridley?

I do like to throw out unconventional topics for conversation/debate when I get bored but I rarely think others are crazy because they disagree with a point I make.

And just like my ex wife you like to bring up things not related to the topic on hand just for arguments sake. It's ok, that's your MO in our discussions so I wasn't surprised.

Samuels is better than Ridley and even if you can make a case they're equal or believe Ridley is better the issue is who would be cut to make room on the roster and 10 out of 10 times Ridley gets cut over Samuels.

Ben also loved Eli and even went so far as to say he could be one of the best slot receivers in the game. I know it was a couple years ago . I agree with you just because Ben likes someone doesn't mean they keep someone around. Ridley isn't being cut for Ola or Eli. Just because he might be a phone call away and 85 other FAs doesn't mean they are gonna go with 2 RBs on a game day roster that's a ridiculous notion. So what does it matter there are others available ?are you cutting Ridley to bring in another to take his roster spot? I doubt it at this point....

Without even looking it up I highly doubt there is a single team in the league that only dresses 2RBs. So why would we cut Ridley? The only reason we would cut one of our backup RBs at this point of the season would be if by some miracle someone clearly better became available.

Your reading comprehension is not very good today. I said crazy ideas. Hence why I brought up Bostic because you are dismissing out of hand my previous reply. Go ahead and deny it but it's there for all to see.

Yeah, great idea, trust a rookie for blitz pick up to protect Ben. Again, going back to Bostic, this is as far fetched as that was but that is your MO.

And no one made the argument that Samuels would be cut for Ridley. The most logical would be Hunter or Dangerfield but if push came to shove, there are others that would be let go before him but it's a ridiculous exercise because there are easier cuts to make.

    Fun facts

Switzer has caught 82% of the passes thrown his way
Pimp dawg Ju Ju is at 70%
AB is at 58% <<< leads the team in targets.. have to point that out.
James Washington is at 32% <<< ouch.

Justin Hunter is even lower at 30%

How much do these stats matter? different players are being asked to run higher or lower percentage of routes. I'm not ready to throw the towel in on James Washington. He's got a rookie year in my mind to get his feet under him before I feel comfortable judging the pick. I haven't been impressed with Hunter. Eli is OK. He did good while here. Guess it's worth bringing him in to compete again.

Very pleased with Switzer on multiple fronts. Good pickup there.

Hey man we all make mistakes and get a little heated sometimes and say things out of character. At least you were man enough to admit it. There are a couple around who throw around insults and don't think twice. You know the internet tough guys....You're not like that and I for one appreciate your opinions and insights and I'm sure many other here agree. You do what you gotta do to get right but I'd like to think that most of us here are kinda like family too. If stepping away is what you need to do then do what's best for you but don't let one little slip up be the reason. Shake it off ,stick around, your a valued member....good luck...

I agree, think Switz has done a great job, he was balling yesterday.

Also not ready to give up on Washington, think he has the skills, just taking him longer than JuJu. That diving catch would have been great for his confidence if he could have held onto it. Now it will just further shake him.

That diving catch could of been great.....if he didn't dive for it. The fact that he is struggling with two of his biggest strengths, ball tracking and catching deep passes tells you all you need to know about where his head is right now. I'm not giving up on his future but I'm not sure we have the time and opportunities left in the season to get him back on track. He needs to make the most out of whatever is thrown his way. The problem is we really don't have the answer behind him either.

I know some me people are knocking the idea of Rogers becoming a option but we have to explore all available options we have. It might be a long shot but at least it's a shot that you have to take at this point.
I'm not looking at it as he's a slot receiver. I'm looking at it like he is a receiver with experience playing on this team and with Ben. One of the problems with Washington is his inability to grasp this entire offense and all it's nuances and if he can't even be trusted to perform one of his strengths ,it's a problem. Eli may be able to provide our O with a more versatile and reliable target. One or two more 3rd down conversions can be the difference between winning and losing. Time to start the clock.....

Well put, especially the part about Washington. They are wasting way too many snaps on a player who clearly isn't ready to contribute.

I think too many people are getting hung up on the slot or outside receiver aspect. I'm not saying they should be taking anything away from Switzer either. He is really stepping up for us. I'm looking at having a reliable target and Washington isn't providing that right now. The emergence of Switzer in the slot is allowing JUJU to play outside more and the results are excellent. JUjU and AB can do both. DHB can provide the "one trick pony "role in our O. Rogers could potentially provide our O with more versatility then JW can at this point in his career. Ben is losing more and more trust in JW by the game. Ben has also acknowledged on more than one occasion the struggles that JW is having. Ben has stated that JW only playing one side of the field and him having a limited rout tree in college are obstacles that JW is having a hard time overcoming. Yesterday's loss pretty much removed any margin for error we may have had. I don't know who or what the answer is but you have to try and improve a weakness. That's all I'm saying....
