Ben and AB not on the same page

for whatever reason it was apparent these two missed on a few plays today? The first INT was off the mark on an AB route. Other times as seems to be the case, Ben tries to force it to 84 to keep him " happy." That last series I still don't know why you force it to him? Had the lineman not got it Roby the DB for Denver was all over it as it was an awful play call. AB is one of the best, but sometimes just being on the field is enough to make a difference so that others can succeed. Five games left and it's a brutal road to make the playoffs, so here's to hoping these two get it together

 

Roby grabbed Brown well before the ball arrived on the first interception. It was a bad throw, too, but part of the missed connection was the defense getting away with a penalty.

Roethlisberger took what the defense gave him most of the game. He forced two balls to Brown that were both intercepted, but otherwise it was the coverage leading him to throw elsewhere. Another factor was the play of Smith-Schuster and a third was the team's refusal to trust the offensive line. They were rushing to get the ball out quickly all day, including both pass plays from the three on that final drive.

 

Idk, that last interception reminded me of a Kordell Stewart pass.

 

That last interception was a terrible decision after a terrible play call. It seemed like an RPO, which Roethlisberger didn't read well.

I do think they allowed the presence of Miller to push them into too many quick throws. The protection was actually quite good. Roethlisberger dropped back to pass 58 times and was sacked only twice. Of course, the quick passes were part of the reason for that, but maybe a little more trust in the line as the game went on would have been in order. I certainly didn't like two quick passes on that last series. I just don't think it put Roethlisberger in the best position to succeed.

I was watching yesterday and thought something was off with Brown. His route running was not like it used to be. He seemed to be not in the right spot most of the game. The first interception I swear Brown stopped running the route or ran the wrong one. Ben was yelling at him after the play. Was it the altitude? They showed him on the sidelines twice with oxygen on.

 

Ben missed some wide open plays down the field today..... receivers running wide open and he overthrows them.... atleast 4 yesterday

 

He also didnt get both feet in bounds on that long sideline pass, and that never happens, maybe that sickle cell trait was in his head, maybe he should have sat out that game?

 

Roby grabbed Brown before the ball got there. Maybe he got caught looking around for the flag instead of the ball, but I don't think that one was on Brown.

 

It happened twice. The first was Smith-Schuster on the opening drive of the second half and that was just overthrown. Smith-Schuster beat his man badly again on the next drive, and that was the time Roethlisberger made the throw for the 97-yard touchdown.

The third time was the pass to Washington, which may have been overthrown a little, but Washington still should have made the catch. He chose to dive for it rather than run through the ball and lost it when he hit the ground.

It did not happen four times. I get the frustration, but let's keep it accurate here.

 

Yep, i wish that Ben would throw those deep balls when they are wide open with less loft and with a more direct line rather than high flying it. He did the same last week against the Jags on the 75 yard touchdown to AB. He is more accurate when he throws his deep balls not so high like he did to Ju Ju in The Jags game.
