70 percent of experts picked steelers to be in sbl before season. They pretty much have been injury free. Why would tomlin be even considered for coach of year?

With the whole idea of that one guy being here and not Conner of course!
Not a huge Tomlin supporter but Damn , gotta give a little credit where credit is due.
He’s kept the team tight IMO

Ben as MVP is more realistic than Tomlin as coach of the year.......

Could be that team cohesion was more from the players than one coach. Lot of football left to know where this journey goes to. Would he be coach of the year for a one and done in the playoffs and just because we got to that point? I would think we would need to advance beyond that.

Yeah, who knows. But I like where this season is headed. Just keep stacking wins.

I’m not sure the playoffs are involved in the coach of the year. But I do hope there are multiple playoff wins this year.

This is a meaningless award in actuality, jimmy johnson received it in 1990 with a 7-9 record, marvin lewis received it in 09 with a 10-6 record, bruce arians received it twice once with the colts and once with the cards, chuck knox received it 3 times but he never won a superbowl, belichick has received it 3 times and you could say it was because of his SB wins but chuck noll won 4 SBs and never received it once, and cowher won it in 92 and in 04, I guess the media liked him those two years, so it's more of popularity contest than being an award based on merit, this is just my opinon based on the hap hazard way this award has been handed out over the years .....

Hell, Bell might be the team MVP. I think his bull**** brought this team together. That, and benching Burns had a huge positive affect.

It seems to me that coach of the year awards often go to coaches whose teams exceed the media’s expectations at the beginning of the year. In that context, I’m not sure that Tomlin would beat out Nagy, Reich or Reid (assuming one or more of their teams stay the course and don’t peter out).

There’s a lot of football left, but I think Tomlin is a longshot. I do think an argument can be made for Fichtner as coordinator of the year if our offense continues to produce.

Tomlin will get consideration for the award. From the media's perspective, Tomlin took a team that started out terrible and has them in contention for a playoff bye week.

From my perspective, I hate the way Tomlin runs camp and the pre-season. We start slow every season because no effort is made during the pre-season to have the team playing as a cohesive unit prior to game one. I can not give Tomlin credit for turning around a team, that would not have needed to be turned around had he managed things differently.

Tomlin will also get a lot of credit for how he handled the LeVeon Bell situation. I can not give him credit for that either. The Steelers helped to create the situation by putting the exclusive rights tag on Bell. Had they not done this, it's quite possible the Steelers could have avoided an unpleasant situation, and even ended up with a couple of high draft picks to boot.

All in all, I really doubt Tomlin gets coach of the year. I give him credit for keeping the team together. I give him credit for once again having the team in contention. But personally, I think Sean Mcvay or Sean Payton are better candidates this season.

If they handle the games left they should win and go 2-1 against Chargers, Pats, and Saints then he deserves it for the regular season.

No that is a pic of me saying wow with what KC and the Bears have done we are talking about Tomlin as coach of the year???

Here is the thing, I heard us the Rams, Vikes, Jagoffs and Cheats mentioned as SB teams....preseason. I did not hear ANYTHING about the Bears and KC, to me that says a ton of what these coaches are doing. Nothing away from MT he should get some kind of consideration but imo it starts with Reid and Nagy.

Not gonna say no but if Gurley keeps it up his name could be added to this list. I will say this, imo right now Mahomes, Brees and Gurley is my ranking. If the Steelers beat the cheats and saints and Ben plays well add his name.

Way to stick you head out there. With games like today in Denver, this thread seems like a huge joke.
