Was talking to my cousin about him last night. He says he thinks we got a steal in the draft with him.

He could be a nice weapon in our arsenal but he needs a body transformation like we've seen from a couple of our other RBs....

Out of interest, what does he see as Samuels main skill set?

Like @thesteeldeal@thesteeldeal I want to see more of him to see what we’ve got. Early signs are promising though.

He’s big on college ball. We didn’t get into detail but he likes. I don’t know anything about him

I think he is a complimentary piece at best. Maybe he can be a decent backup and third-down back.

This is about where I see him too. Let's put it this way I'd hate to rely on him for an extended period if JC30 went down. I hope they look in the draft for another back, like one in the Marlon Mack mold. Somewhat of a home run threat.

Samuels has the talent to run with the 1's..
He's not particularly explosive and won't deliver many splash plays, but he can and will be a chain mover on the ground or in the air... a good offseason could turn his lack of explosion around, but if he stands pat, then we still have a fairly good #2

I did not like the pick however all that I have read and heard is this kid is special. Was listening to movin the chains and PK could not stop talking about the hands this kid has and how good he looking in training camp......that is enough for me. I am hoping this is a kid that can be the player thats steps up if Vance goes down or if Conner goes down. I am a big believer in the "next man up" that MT talks about because if you are on the roster you better be ready. jmo

Let's not forget his protection ability. A solid blocker. I was pimping him before the draft and was pumped when we drafted him. A solid addition !!

I think he will be a very serviceable back for the Steelers.
