I can remember an opening game they won - in fact I think it was Cowher's first game- against Houston, in which they won because of a fake punt, but I don't think that it was a miracle finish.

I mentioned the Bledsoe game myself earlier- it was this one-https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199712130nwe.htm and it was not a fumble, but a ridiculous interception by Kevin Henry of all people. All Bledsoe had to do was hand off with an 8 point lead to run out the clock. However, they chose to pass (and this was Pete Carroll too, in a foreshadowing of things to come)- and Henry sort of ran into the ball and took it way downfield.

Even after that though they had to make a huge 4th down conversion, then score, then get a 2 point conversion, and then win in OT. Which they all did.

I’d could say it ranks up high.... except for the fact that it was against an inferior team. Game never should have been in the position to come back.

Top five for me since 2008.

By far the most difficult win of the season. That being said:

At least you didn't do something lame like post "This game day thread of mine that I started is going exactly like I predicted it would". :roflmao:

Was that the one with Yancy making plays? I remember a ridiculous comeback against the Pats but the details are fuzzy. I remember a big d lineman getting a pick and Thigpen making a couple of big catches.

I would rank this one a bit higher, I just don’t really like it, when you win it aided by ref calls. Taints it a bit. But, it was a good come back, being how terrible they were on offense most of the day.

2002 playoff win against the Browns, was probably one of the best comebacks from a game we should have lost, but ended up winning.

I will say the Steelers don’t have a bunch of quit in them this season and they can win even win they don’t play well.

There was a pattern to the game in this respect.

First half: Jags run the ball. Hold on most plays. Doesn't get called. Jags march down the field and score.

Second half: Jags run the ball. Holding gets called. Sets up long yardage plays. Jags unable to convert.

The refs were abysmally inconsistent throughout. I don't think that aided anybody.

Needed to win this one and all the points were indicating a loss. Until Ben found his mojo, and the rest is history. Pin it wherever you want. A few rough ones coming up. I like the way the defense kept them in the game. A fitting ending as we have seen before from Ben.

I never feel a game is tainted by the penalty calls, win or lose. To me, it all balances out over the course of a season. I didn't see any calls that were all that egregious yesterday anyway, for or against the Steelers.

I agree. But I always refer to that game as “The Liquored- Up Kicker” game.

Yeah, unless I was watching the game in another dimension, I really never felt like this game was decided by the refs. Hard to rank this game overall, but the win, for me, left me feeling like I haven't about a win in a long time. I actually jumped out of my chair and danced...I never dance! They overcame the Jags' defense and their own poor play to win a game they should have lost instead of "coming close". I must admit, after we won, one of my first thoughts was how disappointed some fans on here were going to be...made me chuckle a little!

top 5 i'd have to say. if it was a playoff game for sure. self inflicted comeback, but this is when teams become special. this team has that feel right now. with all the bell chit this year and the defense being in transition and the jags seemingly having our number last year, on the road, backs against the wall, this one was pretty special. this team has that TEAM feel to it. us against the world feel. yes we can feel. i like it. can't celebrate too much though, they don't get any easier going forward.

Ben had two INT called back on calls today. I'm with you on the last call. But I hate the body weight why sacking calls. Didn't matter Ben threw another INT later in the same drive.

Didn't like winning by getting 2nd chances, it just really annoyed me. It's like the Cheatriot way or something like the Pats always get.

Ben played piss poor for most of the game with forcing the ball into coverage or just making horrible throws.Saying that, the pass to Switzer wouldn’t have been picked off if Switzer wasn’t mauled.Ben threw it to the right spot but the interference made it look like a bad throw!

The refs calling obvious penalties does not mean they decided the game. Not calling obvious penalties is them deciding the game and they didn't call a lot of obvious penalties earlier in that game. Heyward might have been held on every play and Ramsey gets away with way too much that just about every other DB gets called for.

I look at that game as a lucky win after getting totally embarrassed for 3 1/2 quarters. We almost got beat by a terrible 3-7 team, who kicked our a**es for most of the game. Nothing to be proud of there at all.

This one ranks up there. The comeback against the Ravens in the playoffs in 2011 is still my favorite come from behind game.
