Yeah but you can't look at the way they play against former coaches. You can't honestly expect them to cheat against them and rub their noses in it. Ask them how that worked out against Mangini ?

I agree it doesn't but unless I heard it wrong ,which is possible. I'm pretty sure that's what they said though....I think what it may be is that a tie doesn't really fit into the equation and it's not a loss so they don't count it as one. So it has to count as something. Idk. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part because it would kill me if we lose out on the 2nd seed because of the stains:smiley1:

Rush2seven had it right a tie can either be a half a win or half a loss depending on the actual wins and losses. So a team would need 2 ties to equal a teams one more win.

Won-Lost-Tied Percentages are applied as follows:

    • A win = 1.000
    • A loss = 0.000
    • A tie = 0.500
    8-6-2: (8(1.000) + 6(0.000) + 2(0.500))/16 = (8 + 1)/16 = 9/16 = 0.563 (0.5625)

    9-7-0: (9(1.000) + 7(0.000) + 0(0.500))/16 = 9/16 = 0.563 (0.5625)

*Divisor is the # of games played...in this case, we assume 16 games have been played.

Therefore, both teams W-L-T % is 0.563 and has the same record percentage.

The reason why a percentage is computed is because of the scenario above, equivalent wins (in the win column) doesn't equal equivalent record percentage (such as 9-6-1 and 9-7, 9-6-1 will have the better W-L-T %). In a extreme case, a team who is 0-0-16 has the same W-L-T % as a team who is 8-8-0 (or 7-7-2, 6-6-4, etc...).

I think we have looked pretty incredible as of late. Not you in particular, but a few fans seem to have a hard time accepting or admitting that we look pretty good right now. I think we can be lumped in with any of the top teams at the moment, and outside of this message board, we are being!

Because the last 2 years we have done the same. Last year we went on like a 8 game winning streak before losing to ne and we led the league in sacks like we do know and saw what happened in the playoffs. Year before in 2016 we ended the season like a 6 game winning streak or something like that. I will only get excited if we make it to Atl in February. Until then I'm holding out hope.

I'll say this: This offense is on a completely different level than in years past. The talent is different but Ben, Conner and the line have all been bulldogs. The defense has been MUCH better, but really, they're finally making routine tackles and the offense is humming so well that it's keeping them fresh. People labeled my comment "very optimistic" a couple weeks ago when I brought it up, but this offense is good enough to win it all... it'll just take some consistency; and that we've actually shown the last month-plus.

I believe in them enough that I bet 1,000 on the Steelers to win the Super Bowl at 8-1 early this week.

We do have a top 5 offense but I'd put the chiefs, saints, and rams all in a class above us.

The tie is probably not gonna matter at all this year. There not gonna beat out KC cause of the head to head loss. If they beat pats and chargers they will get the 2 seed..........

If they match KC in wins, the head to head loss won’t matter. Ex KC 13-3 and Pit 13-2-1, Pit better. However if they match KC in losses ex) KC 13-3, Pit 12-3-1, then KC better. So, due to tie, head to head won’t matter, just wins.

I will never forget that moment. Most of us were tuned into the old message board and I posted that I wanted to see the Bus run over Urlacher. Somebody immediately said "Not going to happen" Boy was it a thing of Beauty in the snow for a TD! I immediately quoted him back and only said one word. "Happened!"

Another unforgettable moment - It was the week that the Steelers backs were completely against the wall and somehow, somewhere a magical Pimply Dan post began.

I'm starting to believe that we can get #7 this year as well. Ben is playing lights out right now and you can tell this team is starting to come together like they need to. Just need to take it one game at a time and not lose any focus.

    :herewego!:
