It would be better if he ended up in SF where the cost of living is ridiculously outrageous behind an Oline made up of swiss cheese.

He will never get anywhere near the money he and and his idiot agent think they deserve.

There are too many good young backs at a fifth of the price that he was expecting and most not even first round picks. The college game has opened up and pass catching running backs is much more common.

He has a lot of mileage on him , a few injuries and a few suspensions and a selfish attitude if a team steps up and pays him large they will most likely be so poorly managed they will suck anyway.

He didn't come back because it would be hard to ask for 17 mil when your second string.

I think a combination of Conner's play and new reports that he really didn't have to play this year to meet his end goal, it became an easy decision for him.

I'm happy as I have Conner on my fantasy football team at a position I'm thin at :)

All Harrison wanted was to play his last year. All Bell wanted was not to play this year. No comparison between the two.

I think he signs a 3 year fully or close to fully guranteed deal at maybe 40. I dont see him signing 5 years plus..

This.. I think he knew from the beginning about the franchise tag being increased and i was really dumbfounded of his thought process after the deadline and then I saw oh he doesn't have to play and the tag still goes up.

Good riddance. He's an arrogant idiot. Let him go to a team that doesn't have the O-line the Steelers do, and see what kind of numbers he puts up. I've always believed that the O-line just doesn't get enough credit for a running backs yards. If Bell, or any back, is on a team with no O-line, they're going nowhere.

I think he came to Pittsburgh this past week to sign and play. After Des Bryant came back and got hurt for the Saints within a couple of days of signing with the Saints had a lot to do with what changed Bells mind to not sign with the Steeler's.

Actually, his agent and him didn't know the tag rules until the Steelers tipped them off. Reporting this season would have lowered his tag from 25 million to a value around 10 million because it would have been based on the money he earned over the last 6 weeks.

Now reports are they will use the transition tag instead. Who knows, we'll find out in March.

Bell never sniffed a SB. Brown was in 1 his rookie year.

Let's win for the good guys

There are no thanks for the memories in the NFL except for players who had a career here, I only have bad memories for bell, suspensions, arrests for pot busts, coming into last season out of shape and totally putting himself first over the team this year, thanks for nothing Bell....

Deion Sanders made an excellent point and though I play football and love it the NFL is a joke of an organization. In what other sport would a top guy have to sit out just to be a free agent and get paid what he thought he was worth. Just sad.

With that logic why even have a draft?

You clearly don't get it..... what TEAM would allow a player that they've researched, drafted, trained, and invested millions of dollars into.... (and wanted to keep).... just walk away because he wants to be a free agent? It's a team business that doesn't let any one player become bigger than the team.

Apples to oranges. You dont get drafted and paid as a rookie based upon what you have proven on an nfl level.

I’m guessing the fact that they’d have to pay him $34.4 million if they’d tagged him again had something to do with it.

Minnesota is paying him more than that. They gave him a 80+ million fully guranteed contract..
