Yeah, ask Keenan Lewis how well that went. He rather go to a team basically out of playoff contention in Week 10

So does that confirm that coaches do not see much in Bud and were looking for an upgrade or a depth thing?

The next time someone is completely certain that Colbert isn't trying to bring in better players, remind them that we wouldn't have known that the Steelers made an offer to Irvin, if he didn't mention it in an interview.

I have a hard time buying this? Was Bruce going to come in and play special teams? I don't see him unseating the starting OLB's.

The NFLPA is not going to be happy with him turning down more money if that part is true.

It would have been nice. But, I think we have already seen Irvin's best days, and that was up in Seattle in the Legion of Boom days.

Probably situational pass rusher and part of the rotation. Oh well Ola time! Man at least give Thomas some reps ,you might catch lightning in a bottle. I think this D needs more actual sacks and splash plays on D to have a legitimate shot at taking down the big guns. I know it can't hurt....

Good lord man! Why on God’s green earth would he lie? He had already signed with the falcons.

The Steelers offer was probably more but a lot might have been incentive based. The Falcons probably offered less with more guaranteed money and then there is another issue. There are a lot of guys that rather play in warmer climates, Lewis was lucky to get to the Saints which is where he wanted to go but he did say he wanted to play somewhere warmer.

Guys commonly turn down more money. Especially if it’s a chance to go home.

As others have already pointed out, how do you know they haven't been trying? Actually according to rumors/reports they have been.

I don`t want a player who has other priorities over winning. Being comfortable or happier is nice, but winning is the only thing.

Above is a post saying he is “going home”.

He was born in Atlanta. How would you fault a guy from Pittsburgh who signed for less with the Steelers? You wouldn’t want him?

I think the point is he had a chance to go to teams that are probably going to the playoffs and have a tradition of winning, unlike Atlanta. If we were bad or had little hope and a Pittsburgh guy signed for less to come here, while I might be happy as a fan, I would be wondering about his priorities.
