We doom and gloomers had every right to be pessimistic about a game vs. a team that beat us quite handily at Heinz Field a month before. Add to the fact the game was in Baltimore. Strange thing is... Steelers play the Ravens better in Baltimore and the Ravens play better at Heinz Field. I wish the Steelers could play as well in Foxboro as they do in Baltimore.

No JEH they'll just drop their old screen name and open a new account like a few have already done. Cyber mulligans! :lolol:

I've had the same screen name since I joined. No need to drop it. I was banned from a Steelers forum (Steeler Nation, maybe... can't remember)... for politics-related posts. That was years ago... circa 2012.

I don’t think anyone wasn’t cautious, for just that reason. Especially given how the NFL lives close games...

On a side note, I don’t have an issue with doom and gloom (I live in the north of England after all). I think some of the naysayers around here tend to shift the goalposts when their predictions go wrong. We have to acknowledge the strengths of the team as well as the weaknesses, though.

I agree, you have way too much vested in your moniker to go changing at this point plus we'd all get bored with our homer selves. But if your name was say .....what's that wacky? Then maybe...........

The Steelers need to win the next 5 games before facing the Patriots. Carolina and LA Cs will be tough. Will the Panthers have Kuechly "spy" on Conner?

I keep it real. Like I said before, there are 4 Super Bowl caliber teams. Steelers are not one of them. Neither are the Panthers.

I agree the 4 probably are the idiots, Chiefs, Rams, and Saints but I know of no Eagle fan and I live among them who said their team was a SB caliber team at the half way point last year. Then their starting QB goes down and they gave up all hope. We all know how it turned out so I'm not surrendering just yet.

Was that the old Steelers.com board? I think half of us got kicked off of that. I got kicked off for repeatedly making note that the operation of the board sucked and the person in charge should be fired. Go figure right?

    Disclaimer:

Unlike the excellent message board we have here run by a fine gentleman.

I never joined Steelers.com. From what I hear, criticism of players, coaches and front office is not tolerated very well in that forum.

This is my favorite Steelers message board. I've been a member of several Steelers forums over the years since the 56K dialup modem days... in the late 90's.

:this!: On paper, there are 4 superior SB "caliber" teams. But as we found out during last 3 Steeler SB appearances, playoff match ups and a degree of luck pave the way to actually getting there. In Steeler's case, none of those 3 years involved direct Pgh/NE playoff games, which helped the Steeler's realized "caliber" (not paper caliber) improve immensely. Gotta love the intangibles for they will pave the way to Stairway to Seven. :steelflag:

On the old Steelers run MB you could get suspended for violating even a tiny one of their bizarro rules - mine came after only 2 or 3 posts where my chosen screen name was "BuddyDial" who's name was just flashed on the screen during Sunday's Ravens game as AB approaches all time Steeler receiving records which WR Buddy Dial still holds from the early/mid 60's. On the Steelers/com MB, you could not use a Steeler player's name past or present in your screen name. No wonder they went Chapter 9.

The Steelers need to go 5-3 in their next 8 games, if they do that they win the division IMO. If they finish with a record of 10-5-1, then the Bengals would need to lose 3 more games.

Me (After Ravens loss in week 4):"Team is dead in the water. No playoffs this season. Defense isn't going to magically get better. We have no Bell. Oh yeah, Tomlin has lost the room. Too many tough teams in the next few weeks. Its over."

I was 110 percent dead wrong. Here to eat crow.
