Seriously though I thought he did a decent job here
but today made it very clear why we kept Dobbs over him
comes into the game cold and is throwing from the end zone
the coaching staff clearly has far more confidence in him then they ever had in Landry Jones
and after that throw they will have even more the next time

Jones, Dobbs, Rudolph. It really doesn't matter who the back up is. When Ben went down, I felt the season coming to an end. Thank god it wasn't serious. On a side note. Tackle Brady like that and there are at least 3 flags coming out.

    I thought they'd keep 4 QB's before they'd cut Landry.

It was one throw. That said, I love how the kid responded to his first meaningful snap in the NFL.

I was hoping for a few more plays, Dobbs brings new energy to the offence. Ben looks like he's playing in slow motion

I would have gave him the series IF the game was well in hand. In that situation, you have to stick with your veteran, if he's able to go. JMHO

Well Dobbs looked better than Lamar Jackson. Good first throw, thread the needle. Big play in the game.

I think Josh Dobbs has a future in this league as a starter, if not with the Steelers than with another team.

But putting Ben back in was the only call to make as long as the injury isn't significant and it wasn't, he just had the wind knocked out of him. I thought it was his shoulder.

I knew the Dobbs fanatics would be out in force, but they really need to calm down and return to reality. The thought of keeping Roethlisberger out any longer than necessary is just ridiculous.

He went down and we all said, "season over". And you are so right about Brady but damn if I wouldn't love to see that.

Dude, pump the brakes a bit. I dont see anybody saying that Dobbs should be in there ahead of Ben. Dobbs is what he is, a backup QB to an HOF'er.

Actually, Jim90 did write that he was hoping Dobbs would stay longer because he "brings new energy to the offense," which is one of those meaningless things people write or say when they want a change that isn't justified by what we've seen on the field.

I know Roethlisberger was a runner in that situation, but that was still a tackler bringing all of his body weight down hard on a quarterback. That is supposed to be a penalty now.

I can almost guarantee that, in another game this year, the same play and same kind of tackle will draw a flag.

I'm pretty sure that once he establishes himself as a runner the QB rules don't apply. If that was called against us I would be furious ,honestly. Ben needs to do a better job protecting himself at this stage of his career. He should of just went to the ground. IMO.

I'm just glad Dobbs made an impact and delivered when he was called upon. My son and I were watching Ben on the ground and said to each other that we hoped that wasn't basically the end of the season, so it was great to see Ben get right back in there, but kudos to Dobbs for making it count when he was put in.

He was running towards the sideline and chased down from behind, what else was he supposed to do there.

I think I'd lose all respect for Ben sliding to the sideline like that.

I don't think even Brady has embarrassed himself that badly :lolol:

Respect is one thing. A broken collarbone and season over is another....

Oh and Brady has most certainly done worse....I've seen it.

He was trying to make it to the sideline... He should have turned right a few feet earlier when he knew he wasn't gonna make the first down.
