I know it turned out good for us but wonder how many thought Tomlin should have had Dobbs just hand the ball off from endzone?? I was 100% sure it would be a hand off. That was a huge risk and I'm guessing most teams would have handed the ball off with a back up QB coming in cold. Hell I thought we would have handed off with Ben in there.

Great call as hard as i am on tomlin sometimes i have to give him credit for allowing that pass..That also is huge for dobbs and the team believing in him.

Tomlin told him to get in there and punt it, Dobbs called an audible.

Great call because it worked. He throws an Int. and Tomlin is taking an ass kicking on here.

When I saw he was going to pass I screamed you idiot, when it was caught I changed my mind.

Smh. Can we ever just give Tomlin some credit? Ballsy call. If it fails we can all back to our Tomlin is stupid stuff. Amazing call. No one expected it.

It shifted momentum so I said good call.. Anytime you can put that kind of faith in a backup quarterback and its successful you shift momentum.

I`m thinking Dobbs had a favorite play in practice that he executes well and that`s what we ran. You can gamble when you have a lead, but yeah that was a huge roll of the dice.

Remember when a similar situation happened in Cincy?? Landry Jones came in for 1 play and threw a non-contestant (Neil O'Donnell-style) pick, a hurt Ben (right elbow) had to go back in & save the day...

    Concur with Glenn.

It was not a great call because it worked. It was a great call because, in such a dire scenario, we can count on Dobbs to do something in a game should something happen to Ben and if he comes back.

Furthermore, this also proves that, while one play, Dobbs was the right choice moving forward for the team. That one play showed how far he has come in his career due to the impact.

It was a great play call that worked out and may have been the difference in today's game. That said, some people need to settle down about Dobb's throw. The throw was slow as hell and when the threw it, I didn't think there was a chance it was going to be completed. The fact that nobody thought they would throw it saved him on that throw. Watch it again, Dobbs doesn't have an NFL strength arm and it really showed on that play.

It helps when the primary defender has his back to the ball while its in the air.
    I would have ran Conner.

Yeah, he deserves the credit for checking to that pass and stepping up to make that throw.

Just heard Ben saying he checked out of the run play that was called. Tremendous that you have that confidence in your backup to allow him to see something and change it.

Had they run that ball, Baltimore would have stuffed it.

Yeah but you're not a rocket scientist. Dobbs dropped back calculated the distance, g-forces and wind velocity and fired a missile that hit his target. what more do you want?:smiley1:
