38-31 record of opponents. 4 top ranked teams as of today left to play. 3 prime time.

@ Ravens = we usually split with these guys, and we play better D on the road. W
Panthers = Thursday game at home. 50/50 on this one. We lose to balt we win this one, vice versa.
@ Jags = normally a loss but it's primetime vs a dumpster fire jags team. W
@ broncos = again normally don't play well there but another dumpster fire. W
Chargers = 50/50 again. Depends on hot Rivers vs bad Rivers.
@ raiders = normally a loss but they are tanking. W
    Pats =L
@ saints = our defense will look stupid again, if they have been looking solid so far. L
bengals = who is your daddy? we are lol W

So should be sitting at 9-6-1 but may inevitably sit at 11-4-1.

Team should definitely win a wild card, could win the division. Bye not happening with pats and chiefs playing the way they are + a pats win vs us, both will own tiebreakers.

It's fine though as bye weeks do not do us any favors.

Season has potential honestly. Offense keeps improving and D/special teams just keep playing decent.

You are more optimistic than I am. I think we are in for a losing streak... 3 games... Ravens, Panthers and Jaguars. And then, Steelers win 3 straight vs. Broncos, Chargers and Raiders... lose to Patriots and Saints and win the final game vs. Bengals. 8-7-1. 8 wins is not enough to get a 6th seed... Steelers sit at home in January.

    I like it!

I am not counting the pats game as an automatic loss though. Gronk is not the same player this year. Put tommy boy on his back, don’t turn the ball over and I like our chances.

    Ravens first though!

Why would he have to explain it? The Patriots do what they do... and the Steelers never have any answers. It's like Groundhog day. A never ending nightmare until Thomas Edward Patrick Brady decides to hang up the cleats.

What I like about the schedule is we will know what kind of team the Steelers are by the time the playoffs start. I am hoping for a battle tested squad.

Yeah no need to state it, just look at the stats.

Us thinking we will beat them is like bengals thinking they will beat us. not fooling myself with that train of thought lol.

somebody takes care of the pats in the playoffs we have a chance.

Agree... but sad thing is, Patriots usually get the worst seed right off the bat in the divisional round... like Texans or Titans. So it's pretty much a free ticket to the AFC Championship. If they would get a team with a "real" defense like Ravens or Broncos, possibly Chargers, they could possibly be beaten in the divisional round like what the Jets did in '10.

Yep. Thinking the same pretty much. Think we will beat Panthers as road teams on Thursday do horribly. I`ll guess we finish 10-5-1.

The 3-5 Broncos are a threat to the Patriots? You're funny.

Broncos have had success vs. Patriots in the recent past... unlike the Steelers.

This year isn't the recent past. Also, the Texans are far more likely to be a threat to the Patriots than the Broncos, who won't even be in the playoffs. Houston has a strong defense, significantly better than Denver's, and Watson gave the Patriots fits last year.

Your information is out of date.

We'll see. Let me know when the Texans win a playoff game against anyone besides the Bengals.

People kept trying to judge the Jaguars last year on what they had been the previous season. You see how well that worked out.

I guess since the Eagles had never won a Super Bowl, anybody who predicted that they would win it last year was an idiot, right?

Texans are pretty much in the same boat as the Steelers.... they look good on paper, good overall team... but when the rubber meets the road (playoffs), they come up short.

I'd like to see a Texans/Steelers AFC Championship. It could happen as long as Watson keeps up the good play and James Conner doesn't disappear like Bell in the playoffs.

The Jaguars beat the Patriots handily in the second week.
Unlike claims about the Steelers' games last year, Bortles did shred the Patriots this year (376 yards, 4 TDs, 111 QBR).

Forget the recent past. Sometimes the immediate past can have out of date information.
If the Jaguars played the Patriots in the coming weeks, with the way they are playing now, would any of us expect a similar result?

9-6-1 is the most realistic outcome for this team. The more important question is 1) does this with the AFCN and 2) if not, does it get us a WC.
I'm hoping the answer to 1 is yes, but I think the answer to 2 is no.

    This years Texans look different.

Watson is playing like QB who belongs, Hopkins is an elite WR. That defense is showing its muscle.

Don’t forget they were looking like a playoff team last year until Watson went down.

Yeah, Bell only has the two best rushing totals in a playoff game in team history and 155 total yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars last season. Accuracy isn't your thing, is it?

I agree. I think 10 wins is enough to guarantee at least a 6th seed. Patriots and Chiefs will be top 2 seeds... so that leaves the winner of the North and South and 2 other teams. Chargers are on trajectory for #5 seed. That leaves either 1 team from either the North or South for final WC spot.
