We are 4-2-1 and in 1st place in the AFCN. But how do we match up with other division leaders?

Rams 8-0: Best team in the NFL. Like the Chiefs but with a defense.
Patriots 5-2: Always the Steelers daddy and brick wall preventing us from reaching the Super Bowl
Chiefs 7-1: Blew us out of the water on offense. Calling it now. Mahomes is a 1st ballot HOFer
Saints 6-1: Another offensive juggernaut. Brees is an ageless wonder like Brady.
Texans 5-3: Honestly shocked to see them in 1st. But Hopkins and Watson are dangerous. I think we beat them head to head though.
Redskins 5-2: Another shocker. Think we beat them.
Bears 4-3: As long as we can stop Jordan Howard we could beat them.

I put the Steelers as the 5th best division leader, after the Saints but ahead of the Texans. Rams, Pats, Chiefs, Saints would all crush us...I think we have better than good chance at beating the Texans, Skins and Bears.

    What say you?

    I say the following:

I am more worried about locking up this division than anything else. The uncontrollable factors will take care of themselves when the time arises.

I think we match up well. The Pats are beatable and the Chiefs have a glaring weakness on defense. If we can find a way to get a little more consistent as the year goes on we can represent the AFC in the super bowl.

I agree with what you listed. Steelers are inferior to Rams, Chiefs, Patriots and Saints. Those 4 teams will likely represent in the conference championship games. Chargers might be able to get in. I don't see any other NFC team beating Rams and Saints if they keep up their level of play.

The Pats are beatable...but are they beatable by the Steelers? When was the last time we beat them in Foxboro?

Steelers haven't won in Foxboro since 2008... and some certain QB was on IR.

Rams, NE and Saints would take a tremendous effort to beat.

The rest I feel they could win.

I knew last year the Rams would be the top team this year. The biggest positive I can take away if we match up against them is they don't use a TE much at all.

Since 2002, the Steelers are 3-11 vs the Patriots. And 1-6 vs the Patriots in Foxboro. That's real ugly -- like Steelers vs Browns level ownage.

How do you see us stopping Mahomes for throwing another 6-7 TDs vs us?

I am superstitious about things like this. Injuries alone could blow up any of these teams trajectory but its interesting to see opinions on this. We keep winning and take care of business, all things will fall in line. For me, onward to Ratville for W5.

Too inconsistent. I don't see the Steelers offense matching or exceeding Chiefs offense.

OK, I agree with that. To beat KC we have to win something like 51-49. No more 13-7 type wins for this defense.

Ben needs to be absolutely perfect and we can't have any 'we don't know the rules' on Special Teams moments, Berry can't be shanking punts, Bos has to hit XPs, etc

Margin for error is close to zero when the other team is going to put up 40+ points

They almost did that game. Matched the Chiefs 21 in the first with 21 of their own in the second. They only lost that game by 5 points.

And Steelers are already a better team now then they were at that point. I expect them to keep improving, they always start slow.

Chiefs also have a penchant for falling apart late in the season. Of the OP's list, this team isn't one that concerns me as much as the others I mentioned.

Pats are very beatable. Chiefs are also beatable especially if you get lead and do not forget the coach is a choker. We will worry about rams if we somehow get there..........

It really doesn't matter where we stack up now. It matters more where we stack up at the end of the season. Like BF said, we are improving each game. Some of these teams are as good as they are going to get in my opinion. There is a small part of me that hopes we get in to the playoffs as a wild card. Seems like we have to warm up every time we have an extended break.

Winning the division is certainly not a given. Bengals are hot on our tails and Ravens, if they sweep us, are not going to be out of it either.

As long as Burns is on the sideline all of them are beatable.

We would beat the chiefs with the current defensive showing...... the rams are very beatable... their mercenary defense isn't stopping anyone.....the saints look unstoppable offense as well, but they have had their defensive lapses as well... the Patriots seem to be the only ones fielding a complete team, and I'm sure we can move the ball on them

I hear this every year and every year the offense stalls out on one too many drives, while defense allows Brady and company to score at will.

I think the only team we can't beat are obviously the pats.. The rams have the best well round team but I don't believe in Jared Goff. If we don't go down 21-0 against kc we prob win that game. Redskins are a dud. Only thing that scares me about the bears is Mack and that defense they could give the Steelers problems. Texans are solid with Watson. Sucks fuller went down for them the saints are the only team I could see destroying us besides the pats

Boy, this week Pats are "very beatable", the Rams are "very beatable" and the Chiefs have "glaring weaknesses".

Ask this same question again next week if they lose in Balt, and it'll be "this lousy Tomlin coached team can't beat anybody".

At home, this team can beat anyone, on the road they can lose to anyone. Problem is they'll likely play KC next on the road, will play NO on the road, and won't play the Rams at home.

The last time the Steelers won at NE, not counting the '08 game w/o Brady was in Dec 1997. Kordell Stewart came from behind with a last minute TD and 2pter to tie, and won in OT on FG.

Throw records out the door Steelers were 13-3 last year and lost in the 1st playoff game.

Get to the dance, and win. That is what you have to do.
