Ryan Switzer admitted after the game he didn't know the rules on the free kick. Danny Smith better start going over these things. Unacceptable.

Not sure how a ST punt returner kick off returner doesn't know this at the NFL level.

I think Switzer took responsibility for it, Nix shouldn't be calling for no fair catch let AB and Switzer do it.

They don't watch much football where he's from, too busy baking cookies.

    Loser: Terrell Edmunds

I personally am not sure if there is some form of injury going on but the physicality that many of us saw in the Atlanta game was not present today. Namely, there were specific incidents in the game when Terrell would hesitate to tackle; both Special Teams and Defense.

Again, not entirely sure what the issue is but he needs to be more physcial when engaging to tackle. If he cannot, Pittsburgh will not be as successful stopping the upcoming rushing attacks.

They were by no means excellent today. Better after quarter one, yes.

Winners - Conner, Oline, AB, Dupree, Haden....and most of all the coaches for the adjustments they made after the 3rd defensive series.

Losers - Danny Smith, Nix, Switzer.....and most of all Lev Bell

    Winners:

Matt Fieler coming in for Gilbert on the right side

    Losers:

Artie Burns: I didn't see him out there and can't find any stats on him for this game. It was Sensabaugh, Hilton, and Haden, so hopefully Burns is finally done.

Edmunds: the guy seems to be almost completely lost out there. I know he's just a rookie and got an interception a few games ago but it just seems that he has a very long ways to go before he is ready and probably shouldn't be out there yet.

    Great defense? Nope
    Good defense? Sometimes

We asked for an average defense and it’s doing that plus more

That is inexcusable. Smith absolutely needs to make sure his return guy knows the rules in that situation. Sure, Switzer screwed up, but some of that has to be on the special teams coach.

Have to disagree with this. Gave up 74 yards on the ground, 180 in the air, 2 TD's one of which was a gift from ST's. 2 sacks and harassed Mayfield all day and one hell of an int by Haden.

    They played excellent defense today.

Never-mind all that, let us discuss this bizzarity: What in the world is the 260 pound Nix doing out there on returns in the 1st place?

The D's number do look excellent, but it was vs. the disarrayed Browns, at home.

Still played an excellent game. The D has been playing above the line since the Atlanta game.

True. I didn't see as much pointing and head scratching as previous games either. Maybe it's starting to click.
I look forward to the game when they put it together on both sides of the ball for 4 quarters.

We all need to forget about the defenses of old and appreciate keeping teams under 25 with timely stops and or turnovers forced.

Offense just needs to be consistent and we will be alright

Yeah Nix told Switz not to comment, but Switz took ownership.

I think AB being out there had something to do with it as well. He's not normally out there on KO's anymore.

Listening to Batch he thinks that had something to do with it, but Switz said he didn't know it was a live ball.

That's kind of understandable because it's the kicking teams choice whether to punt it or kick it off. Must have been confused.

Yes they were, they put constant pressure on Mayfield, allowed 2 fgs a gift touchdown and garbage time score with 6 seconds left, The Browns didn't get over 200 yes offense until that last garbage time drive.I know the narrative is that they have a terrible defense but let's give credit when credit is due, the defense was excellent today.
