He might be worth looking into, I wouldn't give up a first round pick for him though. I'm not sure how well he has played this season for the Raiders, he was injured much of last season as a rookie.

My understanding is he hasn't played well at all. The same is true of Jenkins. Neither is worth a high pick.

Like the story about the bear chasing two guys and one says "I sure hope we can outrun this bear" and the other guy says "I don't have to be faster than the bear - just faster than you". Except in the Steelers case, doesn't matter if he plays bad so long as it isn't worse than Artie Burns. ;)

I kind of feel for Burns right now. The dude has no confidence. That's not good. He hasn't always played as poorly as we have been seeing, which tells me he is in a slump. If I'm coach, I'm finding what he does well and try to put him in those positions more to help him build confidence. << think that's the key at this time. Think he's at an all time low.

Only major player worth acquiring would be Peterson. Issue is the team does not seem interested.... or so we are made to believe.

We don't make blockbuster trades like the Peterson trade.

We don't because usually we do not have cap space but we will actually have a ton cause of shazier and bell coming off payroll. I think it is actually possible they will do something cause we are real thin in secondary... Burnett might not play this year and if they want to bench burns they really can not. They are gonna pick up someone for the secondary anyway might as well make it good........

More realistic trade would be for chris Harris or Bradley Roby in denver

I got smacked around for saying Burns wasn't that good when he was in his rookie season. Just about everyone thought he was going to get better and while I hoped he would I kind of knew it wasn't going to happen. Burns guessed right and broke on some routes early on but that is his issue, now teams are throwing at him because he bites on every little juke and double move.

The reason he does that is because he is a long strider, this means that it takes him longer to get to top speed and then doesn't allow him to change direction quickly enough to be a CB at the NFL level. He also lacks the instinct and football I.Q. needed to be a great zone CB, so make no mistake, Burns is done and after the season the team would be smart to try and get a 5th or 6th round pick to trade him.

When it comes to a CB they need to look at CBs that fit their defense, remember Asomugha tanking with the Eagles? He was a great man to man CB but he didn't have the smarts to play zone and he looked bad as his career came to an end, just the wrong guy for that scheme, Peterson is the only one worth signing unless they can get an average CB from somewhere for a 5th or 6th round pick, right now an average CB is an upgrade over Burns and Sensabaugh.

Would love to take a flier on Roby. Still think we need to stop being dumb and go after Peterson.

The giants just traded their 1st round pick eli apple to the saints for a 4th round this year and a 7th round the following year, I have no idea why the saints wanted this head case....

I understand not being familiar with Roby, but you don't know who Chris Harris is?

You probably could get either one of those guys without giving up a first round pick.

I like to think that a head case can be rehabilitated in the right environment (team attitude, veteran presence, coaching,...).

Apple had been playing better for the Giants this season, too. He was certainly worth a shot.

I'd offer a fourth or a fifth for Conley. Maybe that's just the Buckeye in me talking. Low football mileage guy that maybe better with a change of scenery.

More realistic trade, see if Denver will trade Bradley Roby or Chris Harris.
