rumors are swirling about us going after Patrick Peterson in the next two weeks. I’m wondering if they’ve been in unofficial talks with Arizona the past few months with the fact that they cleaned up some salary cap space with restructures recently.

If he was willing, they could easily restructure Peterson’s contract. Combine that with Bell being gone next year, they could easily make this happen. I’d have zero issue giving them a 1st for him. Best CB in football

Not sure it’ll happen but I definitely don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility

Makes too much sense to go after a stud secondary piece so it won't happen

The Steelers rarely add big-time players during the season, or it feels that way. This would be an absolutely massive move.

MINNEAPOLIS – Patrick Peterson became the latest Cardinals player subject to a trade rumor on Sunday, but coach Steve Wilks has no plans to deal the Pro Bowl cornerback.

When asked about the report following the team’s 27-17 loss to the Vikings, Wilks said “I don’t respond to things that are ludicrous.”

Steelers will not deal any draft picks unless they are packaged with the great rapper.

Wonder if he's going by his gut instincts, he said that he uses those more than common knowledge. Don't the guys upstairs tell hm yes or no? maybe it's the meatheads upstairs telling him to throw it. They're probably high so they say yes throw it, just for the laughs.

Well his gut is wrong about 90% of the time. When he throws the challenge flag I'm just like Jesus c***** what's he challenging now

I would have no problem giving a 1st for an all-pro CB. After all the FO has already proven that there's no guarantees when it comes to using a 1st on a CB (Artie Burns) in the draft.

Give up the 1st and get a sure-thing? I'm in.

Steelers need to do this and go all in!! We have a great relationship with the Cardinals. Penguins have had their core and made big trades that have resulted in Championships. Haden is arguably the best corner I've seen in a Steelers jersey in my lifetime. We obviously cannot draft and develop this position. Trade for him, screw the 1st. We could potentially get two 1st in the off-season for Bell. Worst case scenario two 2nds. This is the time to make a move!!

You must be young. Did you see Carnell Lake and Rod Woodson play corner? Mel Blount? Haden is a damn good CB and I'm glad we have him. He's basically Ike Taylor with better hands.

I was really young when I watched them play. Not able to evaluate their play lol but I know they are considered better. The best corner for my generation would probably be Ike, who I hated. Haden is way better than him imo.

No... Ike was the last shutdown corner Steelers had before Haden. Taylor was very underrated. He had some bad games, but he rebounded. We won 2 Super Bowls with Ike at CB. He shut down Marvin Harrison in '06 divisional playoff game.... when Bettis fumbled and Ben saved the day.

Going to have to disagree. He's overrated imo. That defense carried him. Haden is following and shutting down teams #1 WRs with rookies/average safeties. No 1st ballot HoF helping him out.

Wrong. Taylor was always singled up against #1 WRs. Polamalu was a strong safety and usually near LOS or 5-10 yards back, wreaking havoc. If you're gonna give credit to safeties helping out Taylor... give it to Chris Hope and Ryan Clark.

I know he was. I'm just saying in general. That whole defense was a different beast. Teams feared them and they got pressure. This defense? Not so much. Haden shutdown AJ Green and Julio who are considered Top 5 WRs of this era.

When was the reasonably big name in-season trade in the NFL?

Asking in all seriousness because I can't recall one.
