For what it's worth Pittsburgh is #2 in redzone efficiency, under Seattle. They are listed as a 78.57%, up from 53% in 2017.

I don't expect that to hold, but just wanted to say there's at least improvement there on this team.

They have been held scoreless twice in the 2nd half this season and they are 2 in redzone Eff? I guess if a team doesnt get in the redzone it must help their stats?

Eh, IDK. At least when we get in the red zone, we are scoring. That is certainly s good thing?

not technically worthless, shows we are punching it in this year.

Just need to work on consistency and halftime game planning.

Just to even out the stat BBH, where does the D stack up in red zone efficiency? Worthy to consider both sides of the equation.

    53% (13th), v. 66% (31st) last year.

PIT is 25th in points per game, though. That suggests teams are scoring from outside the red zone. (That 53% number is touchdowns allowed in the red zone, not TD/FG scoring).

Who would you give more credit for this increase, Fitchner or Connor?

One of many. I've been watching the baseball playoffs and I'm amazed at all the BS they have come up with.

I'm all for any improvement by the offense in the red zone, nice work O! Now if we can get Boswell straightened out, even better.

What helps red zone scoring is our good OL. Here are three pictures that show it.
This play is called '36 trap'. I think. I'm still trying to learn the steeler play terminology.
the '3' means the tailback gets the ball.
the '6' means the play will go thru the '6' hole, the one between the RT and the TE.
the 'trap' means the blocking assignment. the right side of the OL blocks down meaning away from the hole. The pulling LG kicks out the Cleveland DE, Myles Garrett I think in this play. nice hole for Conner and a TD.
    Some variations of this are:
'36 LEAD' where the pulling guard would pull and lead the RB thru the hole while Rosey Nix would be in charge of kicking the DE out. '36 COUNTER trap' where COUNTER means Conner would take a step to his left first to deceive then run right for the actual handoff and run. IMG_2800.JPG IMG_2803.JPG IMG_2805.JPG
