Bostic was a good signing

It’s time to admit some of us were wrong. He’s solid and what we need. Sprinkle fort and Thomas and we have a winner.

LJ played pretty good didn't see Thomas get in... Bostic is holding his ground. Still a few issues to rep out and get that communication thing in order but the D is better than what they've been.

I agree. I'm happy to eat crow on that one. Maybe Vince is the weak link?

Thinking that too but let’s string a couple games together. Butler put a good game today

I agree that he was a good signing to replace Vince in the starting lineup & add depth at ilb. Still need a solid cover ilb that can play sideline to sideline.

    Agreed.

Of the two, I thought Morgan Burnett would be a better choice given Jon Bostic's injury woes.

However, he has been very solid; definitley playing like a top 10 inside linebacker for certain.

    One game, we will see.

But my observations on Fort this game were not very good.

about time this board relaxed on Bostic, he is meat and potatoes on the inside, that what we need, i'm ok with him not covering receivers like a ballet dancer, i think he brings a little more stout to the D for run stuffing, so arrow up good to see, much needed win today

He's no more than a stop gap. Good signing, yes, but not the answer long term. We still need to draft an ILB next year.

    Yes

He was only meant as a stop gap.

Eating crow is just fine. It is similar to other dark meat birds like duck.

Just thought I would toss this in there.

Bostic is solid against the run, but him and VW on passing downs and in coverage is not the answer.

Bostic is just a slightly better version of Williams. That’s all. They are surprisingly similar players. Can play well vs the run, can rush the passer from the inside, and can’t cover a single RB or TE in the league.

I like what Bostic has brought to the table though. I really think they are missing the boat not playing Thomas any... that kid has the speed and ability to be a difference maker and we threw some special teams scrubs in Fort and Matakevich out there before him. He literally couldn’t bring any less to the table than Matakevich if he tried. I know he’s a rookie but man we need some speed out there

LJ Fort should get more looks at times. He made several nice plays today and he had a good training camp too.

    Yep.

He has had his woes but he is playing like one. Even in that Kansas City game, where no one really played well, Jon was one of bright spots.

No crow, I liked the signing. Felt he could be a diamond in the rough and that it was injuries that had been holding him back.

The point was Farrior was underwhelming as a Jet and didn't become the player he was until he came to the Steelers.

Maybe Bostic will go on to have a very good career in black and gold.

We won't know how he compares until the book is finished.

You were already wrong about him starting ;)

Bostic has played well all season. He is far better moving laterally than Williams, who only seems to make plays right in front of him.

Am I the only one who thought the roughing call against Bostic was garbage? He was trying to get up and his legs got tangled with Ryan's. I know they want to protect the quarterbacks, but that was clearly an accident.

Bostic is decent.... I think the question now becomes: Is the defense better or worse playing with both Bostic and Williams at the same time?

They are both good players, but so far when out on the field together the results aren't great, IMHO. LJ has some nice speed.

Won't disagree at all. Thought this the first time I saw him play in regular season this year. Nice to know we have a semi-anchor in the middle of that corps.

They need to stop using Williams in nickel and dime packages. I know part of that has been the absence of Burnett, but they were clearly better on passing downs without Williams today.
