I agree with everything stated in the article. I've been bringing up the same points in this article here on this forum, for the past 2 years since we lost to New England in the AFC Championship.

From a skim read the article seemed to just be a rehashing of things that are raised endlessly on here.

So you’ve probably seen the responses already in those threads...

It was Harry Truman who coined the phrase, "The buck stops here." The Steelers head is Art II and ultimately, he's in charge. If the Steelers are chaotic and Colbert's picks stink, well, he allows it. Perhaps more criticism should be directed his way.

Tomlin and Colbert deserve the blame. The Rooney's won't fire themselves though...

That so-called article was whiny, fanboy regurgitation stuff he could have easily crowd-sourced here. I'm sorry I gave him the click.

That's not a defense of Tomlin. His future should be in question, especially if the team can't turn things around and he finally has his first losing record this year. It just wasn't anything new and it was fanboy writing. I've seen more eloquent arguments with better support here.

Wow...Absolutely spot on article..Not just a " few" instances...But a myriad of screwups, miscommunicatons, disciplinary problems( on and off the field ) horrendous decisions on the field, non stop social media bantering, can't play up to stank ass teams...All with imo, a talented team, minus the defense " obviously "

And not just this season..But for many...Starting with getting Tebowed

Wondering whatever happened to "The standard is the standard". Could be that this bs catch phrase garbage will come back to haunt him. On the other hand, we are only into the 5th game and all things still possible for the season. The question is when is the official panic button get pushed? For me, I'll hold off until the half way point and see WtF we are at that time.

In short, I think it's far too early to make conclusions to fire anyone. I'm sure this is the Rooney's thoughts on the matter also. We've played 4 games so far this year, excluding the preseason which weren't half bad.

No matter how you look at it, Tomlin has had a good career here in Pittsburgh. It has been better than most coaches in the league.

So now we get to see how they react to starting out with a losing season. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they turn all of this around to at least being more competitive .

    We will see.

That article is garbage. The writer makes up crap to support his argument. For example “Tomlin trips player”. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit of it was written by our very own captain clickbait.

I’m seriously over to the playing down to the competition line. This was used by Steelers fans throughout cowher’s tenure, but conveniently forgotten by those same people.

Why do you take issue with Tomlin obstructing Jacoby Jones? That happened. He didn't actually trip the guy but he certainly was in his way and was fined by the NFL for it.

The point is he didn’t actually trip anyone. When you make stuff up you come off as not very creditable.

Tomlin’s Foot might have been two inches on the field and he jumped out of the way. Did it change jacoby’s path or slow him down? No, neither of those things occurred so you characterizing it as obstruction is a falsehood as well. Was it stupid on his part? Absolutely. However, it doesn’t change the fact he didn’t trip the player as the writer claims.

Bell skips a league mandated drug test and it’s tomlin’s fault? Bell holds out and it’s tomlin’s fault? Brown is excused from practice it gets falsely reported and it’s wait for it

    Tomlin’s fault?

Give me a break. You people are grasping at straws.

He didn't actually trip Jacoby, I agree. The NFL obviously thought it was severe enough as they fined Tomlin $100,000 for the incident. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...lin-fined-100000-for-actions-in-steelers-loss

If it truly had no impact on the play as you claim there would not be such a huge fine.

But what's more telling is that this seems to be the only hole you can poke in the article. If so, that's very telling...

You’re if A then B conclusion is flat out wrong. Apparently you don’t read very well since I punched holes in 3 more of his talking points just for you.

The head coach is responsible for the discipline of his players. I get that he can't knock the blunt out of Bell's hand at 3 AM but overall, the head coach is held responsible for whether his players stay out of trouble.

May not seem fair, but that's what you sign up for when you accept the title of head coach. But even putting aside the issue of player discipline there are plenty of other reasons why Tomlin is doing a poor job on Sundays.

Tomlin just needs to go to a Tampa 2 4-3 and be done with it...

This hybrid abomination defense isn't working...

So it was cowher’s fault Ben went head first into that little old ladies car. It was cowher’s fault Hines held out. It was belichek’s fault that guy was murdered by his tight end. Crennel’s fault Belcher committed suicide at the chiefs facility...

It isn't the head coach's fault per se, but overall the head coach is judged by his players' conduct on and off the field.

I get it, you think it's unfair. I'm not arguing it's fair. However, when you sign up to be the head honcho you get flak for this kind of stuff. I'm sure Tomlin was aware that he would be judged on this before he signed the contract.

No, coaches are judged by their success or lack there of. Our coach has been very successful. There are very few fan bases that haven’t endured a losing season in a decade. We have some issues on defense and our quarterback is having major accuracy issues right now. I say right now, but it’s entirely possible that Father Time has finally caught up with Ben.

I unfortunately do think Tomlins message is getting old .It happens to all coaches even the great ones.. It happened to Cower after the 05 Super bowl..It will soon be time to go a different direction..
