Injury updates

looks like both Decastro and Gilbert will be back for Sunday night.

Burnett however went from full practice Wednesday to limited Thursday so its looking like he will miss another week.

Hilton was also limited today and it appears as though he will also miss this week.

Secondary is in bad shape boys.

Name to watch as a surprise is JuJu. Limited Thursday. If he doesn’t practice fully tomorrow he could be in jeopardy. Would be a huge loss.

 

Flacco is looking at having Edmunds and Davis at safety. Sutton at Nickel inside corner and either Artie or Sensabaugh at one outside corner.

I mean he might drop 500 on us

 

The key is going to be the LB to Safety handoff of the tightend. That was where the Ravens got back into the game versus the Bengals. Flacco got huge yards from finding his safety valve guys in that game. I hope the Thomas gets some work with the group and Bostic does better handing his man off before abandoning coverage.

 

From what I have been watching, we don’t cover the tight end with anyone?

 

We might want to try the nouveau approach of occasionally chipping the TE to throw off the timing. I think if we continue to allow a free release and build up speed from some of the athletic TEs we will continue the struggles in coverage.

Terrell Suggs has missed the last couple practices with a knee ....

 

I'll never know why we don't do this, especially the way tight ends run wide open against us. We should do this (chip the TE to throw them off timing, along with don't use our OLB and MLB to cover them one on one so often.

 

I get that they were limited in practice, but the OP makes some leaps in logic about Burnett and Hilton sitting this week. We will have a better idea after Friday's practice.

Playing without both would be a big problem because it means we will see more of Behre on defense, where he is completely useless.

 

If Burnett can't play, make Marcus Allen active let's see what he can do. We know Behre is garbage, he should only get on the field for special teams.

Well of course Friday will be important but Burnett is trending in the wrong direction and the guy appears to be another FA injury prone signing. I’d put a decent wager that he will be out.

As for Hilton Tomlin called the injury significant and he has only a limited practice under his belt. He has a shot if he goes full today but I would think he misses at least one game on a short week.

Trust me I want these guys playing because our secondary with them is questionable, without them it’s a downright disaster

 

Well my opinion is with our secondary so bad maybe it is time our 2 big dollar ends step up and take over games. I mean there has been a lot of talk how our secondary stinks and how Watt disappears in games and how Dupree rushes so deep(yeah I have said this) but yet we have 2 ends making a BOAT LOAD of money and where are they????? 5 years 52 mil and 5 years 60 mil for what, 3 games in have we heard their names, maybe the problem isn't just that our secondary is bad but that we can get production from the guys we are paying to get production. Pressure is a secondary's best friend and we aren't seeing it, jmo.

Now before people roast me I love Cam this isn't about liking and not liking it is about production. Both Cam and Tuitt are not producing and we are spending good money on them.

Going through a limited practice Thursday may not be a setback for Burnett. It could be the coaches treading lightly with him as he recovers from injury.

I'd be surprised if Hilton played, but really, today (Friday) is the key for both guys.

 

He only has the two highest single-game rushing yardage totals in team history. Yeah, he always sucked in the playoffs.

 

Pressure is key, yes, but I'm pretty sure the Steelers lead the league in QB pressures. So they are pulling their weight, up front, to an extent. Would like to see them get home more often though... Obviously.
