You don't know who on here has played the game and who has not. Either way, it is a terrible argument. Playing the game doesn't make you an expert in player evaluation. The only reason former players take up such a large show o the talking head jobs is name recognition.

Your arguments aren't bad because so many people here don't like them. They are bad because they lack merit and logic.

No player guarantees a trip to the Super Bowl. That is a silly standard to use when judging Bell's value.

The idea is to improve your team's odds and he could do that for some other contenders. I don't understand the thinking linking him to the Eagles, who have two pretty good running backs.

While I agree with you, if NE were to offer a ton of picks....maybe. But that won't happen so he won't be a Patriot. At least not this year.

actually you agree with them, they have absolutely no idea who you are so to structure your sentence in a way that implies that Kurt Warner, MJD, Dieon Sanders, Micheal Irvin have come to your defense is as silly as some of the positions you take before your turtle. I can do it too but my is a much grander scale. I said the sun would set tonight and it did so therefore I must be a god since I made the sun go down.

I’d trade him for Hightower and a high draft pick. Why not? Bell is going to contribute zero to the Steelers this year

I said players, analysts, and football aficionados in earlier posts. So when a team pays bell next offseason who will be right that the team should have let him go this offseason and let him go elsewhere? That's my whole problem. And if anyone on this board was a athlete they would have never said some off the stuff like "athletes are overpaid". They arent anybody special etc...

I can flip around then. I'm just echoing their sentiments. At least I'm providing people with credibility to back up my claims and not just what I and a fanbase who has no objectivity thinks.

Rumors keep hinting the eagles are front runners to pull the trigger...

    https://247sports.com/Article/LeVeon-Ball-Eagles-trade-compensation--122585164/

La Canfora states the Steelers want more than his compensatory 3rd rd value, but he makes it sound like we’ll accept the offer if that’s the highest bid....

If I were the Steelers I’d wait it out until playoffs approach... injuries will occur and if the eagles owners watched the rams today, they should seriously consider bidding. As the post season gets closer, I’m betting the price will be driven upward. No one wants the possibility of having to gameplan around him in route to the Super Bowl. If there is any motivation for Bell to play late this season it’s with a team close to winning a Super Bowl. If he succeeds and plays well, he’ll welcome the accolades and look to cash in with a record contract....and my bet is he’ll get it. Unfortunately, if that plays out, we can look forward to getting the Raiders media treatment all off season.

For the risk of having to endure that...
I’d mark the floor at 2nd rd. And hope someone bids a 2nd and a 4th. People say that’s a lot, but a competitive team will reason what’s the value of a Lombardi.

Le'veon is not going to be traded. There is no reason for a team to trade for him. They'd be essentially getting a one year rental out of him and the team getting him would be in the same position the Steelers are now. Any team trading would have to give up a 3rd round pick or higher. I don't see it happening.

Le'veon is holding out for the big contract. He won't sign the franchise tender until it's past the deadline prior to his deadline to be eligible for next year's free agency. He may try and fake injury after the fact. Who knows. If he does confirmed by team docs he can be suspended without pay.

Bell has one thing in mind, getting paid in a long-term guaranteed deal. He doesn't care less about getting a championship, getting into the hall of fame, etc. His actions show that pretty clear. It's still yet to be seen if he can get what what he wants in free agency.

Many people have him rated lower than Todd Gurley due to his age and stats mostly.

As for comparing Bell to Gurley's contract, it wasn't all that different. Gurley got a 20 million dollar bonus. Bell was offered a 10 million dollar bonus. Both were offered 45 million in "rolling gaurantees" Gurley got a 4 year contract. Bell was offered a 5 year contract. The average was about a .4 million difference per year.

Bell looks to forfeit about 10 million alone this year by holding out.

So it's interesting to put things in perspective. All the trade talk with Bell is speculative at best. Fun to ponder but not going to happen.

The idea that Bell is the victim is still a joke. The Franchise Tag is used to set market value of the top players at positions, and was used in negotiating Todd Gurley AND Le'veon's deal.

Bell would have made over 28 million guaranteed for playing football for two years on the franchise tag, more than most players will make running and catching a football in their entire career.

I can't go to work and demand 5 years of salary in advance. Why should Bell? If you can't live comfortably off of and set up retirement off of 28 million alone, you have problems.

The idea that being able to run and catch a football warrants 28 million over two years is also a joke. To say these people are underpaid is laughable.

I see Bell fading away from the football scene as soon as he gets his big contract. Someone will be stuck in cap hell for years dealing with their mistake signing him, and someone will.

Lets get one thing straight, the Cheats would NEVER give him the bloated contract he wants. So him being traded to Cheatland will not happen.

I don't care where he goes, as long as he goes. Ba Bye...

Pretty sure MattyMo was jerking your chain. It sure is humorous seeing stuff go right over the guy's head who spends so much time telling everyone how smart he is and how little everyone else knows.
