Tell us what you've accomplished in your life that qualifies you to think the Pittsburgh Steelers organization is out of line for not giving in to Le'veon Bell's contract demands. All those talking head ex-players whose words you take as the gospel are doing nothing but backing their union brother. Tell us what you have accomplished in your life that you know better what should be done with Le'veon Bell, his "HoF talent" that comes with baggage, than the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Maybe you should ask for a job. You seem to be of the opinion that you're bright enough to replace Omar Khan. Go for it.

James Conner is the starting fullback right now for the Pittsburgh Steelers. That's the only reason I need/want to root for him. Not analytics. Not to prove a point. Not because I think he's getting the shaft. Not because I fancy myself a ladies man. Not because I have him in 10 different fantasy leagues, not because I need some sort of validation. Not because I think he's more talented than Bell. I root for him because he's a Steeler and they are my team. Period.

Having said that, you know you can join fan sites of whatever team Bell signs with. Because it's easy to tell, you're not a Steeler fan, you're a star gazer. That's fine, just don't pose here.

You’re wrong. I care about both sides. These players put their long term health on the line and deserve to be paid well for it.
Teams need to manage the risks involved with signing a player long term especially when a lot of guaranteed money is involved.
I believe in this situation the Steelers made a very generous contract offer considering the risks involved with Bell.
Of course they players are going to be all about the players. You’re not going to get an objective view from a lot of these ex players.

Bell isnt even one of my favorite players. Its several I like and watch over him but I just respect greatness. And backing their union brother. Lmao the players union has ZERO to do with retired guys. It's why Erick Dickerson and others wrote that long letter to the nfl to get healthcare and a better pension. Has nothing to do with them. Why didnt all of them say the same about brock osweiler? He was a "union brother" when got paid. Why didnt they say that about kirk cousins. A lot of people say he was overrated and overpaid. And didnt odell have a lot of baggage and get paid? I see you all.here keep ignoring that. And you just completely disregarded your first point. You said the players only worry bout their union buddies but yet just in a different way essentially stated you only worry about your steelers. Also for what it's worth although I didnt never once go off solely what I or a bunch of people of a forum think and actually referenced people with knowledge and credentials I am currently a d1 football player for what thats worth and was just first team all county last year.. but I'm echoing sentiments from hall of famers, football analysts, and aficionados. Not people on this board.

Where is the "you're full of sh!t" rating? The post above needs it. :poopy:

On second thought, everyone on this board played D1 football, played in the NFL, and also coached in the pros too.

Do us all a favor and stop with your bullshat :icon bs:

When did Fayetteville state university become a division 1 school?

The worst part of telling lies is trying to keep track of the lies so people don’t call you out on your bull****.

I dont go to fayetteville state. I go to NC A and t. I initially committed because I wanted to be be back in nc I was born there and live there till I was about 8 until I moved so I always said I would go back to school there but I only had a full offer from fsu I could have walked on at state, Carolina, or unc Charlotte and then a and t offered me a offer so I ended up going there last min.

So if that was generous what do you consider odell's contract he got with the risk he has?

Were you discussing the Le'veon Bell trade value by any chance?

Really it's funny I don't see the backlash. You obviously are for paying Le'veon what he thinks he's worth, many here including me aren't. I think it would have been a mistake to bow to his demands. Not in the best interest as a team as a whole with glaring issues on defense.

We will get to see, because ultimately I don't see him being traded. He's either signing the tag or the tag will be rescinded. He will be on another team next year. If no teams wants to give him what "he thinks he's worth", then I wouldn't be surprised if he retires. I don't think his heart is in football. He's clearly in it for the money. He's focused on his rapping career, or should I say lack thereof.

He'll play good if with a team. I still don't think it'l be 18x better than James Conner. I don't think he's going to play as well as he did in the Burgh. Just my "professional" opinion. Played HS football LMAO.

I didnt think I would have to spell this out or put it in green font and I'm guessing that everyone else who read this (except for one person) got it. Let me break it down for the slow kids. It was sarcasm. Try and keep up.

exactly. The interested parties all have agendas/interests that don't match.

Steelers incentive to keep him on the books is the compensatory draft pick in 2020 (I htink it is 2020), but that comes at the cost of L-Bell in the locker room for 6 weeks (plus playoffs if we make it) and 6 weeks of salary. Any offer they take, I would assume, needs to be worth more than a 3rd round pick in 2 years plus 5M. Is a 5th rounder (or whatever offer comes in) in 2019 and a savings of 5M worth more than a a 3rd in 2020?

Team trading for him incentive is a 6 week plus possible playoff player and first right to negotiate before FA opens. The chances of Bell signing anything with any team before he tests the market are remote (the team will get fleeced).

Bells incentives are to play as little as possible, not risk any injury, and reach the open market. Bell's motivation isn't what team he is on, it is whoever pays the most money.

Yes, but there are teams chasing the Lombardi that would take a one year rental. Like the Packers, Eagles. You can't tell me you wouldn't give up a second rounder for a really good shot at the prize? I would gladly give up a draft pick for Earl Thomas and a much better shot at the trophy.

What makes Bell the magic ticket to a super bowl trophy? It wasn't the case in Pittsburgh.

Not only that, he appears to be out of shape and more concerned about his free contract in the coming off season than playing in 2018. If I'm a contender and looking for a missing piece to take me over the top, i could easily decide that Bell isn't the right guy.

If some other team offered a second rounder, the Steelers should take it before anyone can blink. That said, I wouldn't hold out much hope that this will happen. Not saying it won't because you never know in this world, but I think I have a better chance on hitting Mega Millions this week.
