for the first time, really, I felt fear when KC was on offense, its hard for me to watch replays of that game, help me here, 'cause we need a lot of help, D has to rebound next week, if you dont look at the scoreboard I thought a lot guys played ok, but what happened?

I'd say the defense is that bad and Mahomes is solid but really just has a lotta weapons on offense

He's a nobody and that is why he lit up Tomlin's defense. Been happening a long time with this team.

Mahomes is a good QB... but he won't throw for 6 TDs against Jax and NE. Steelers D is one big pile of steaming feces.

I dont know if he'll keep this up but he's playing lights out. He lit up the Chargers too.

Mix that with our porous defense and this is the result.

Mahomes is/is going to be really good and a perennial pro bowler. And our defense just really friggin sucks..

    Both honestly.

For Patrick Mahomes, while it is still too early to tell, he looks to be the "torch bearer" for the next generation of star quarterbacks. His arm talent is unreal; his processing no less.

Our defense is not good. This young secondary will be going through some severe growing pains as the season progresses. The only hope is if the entire defense gels sooner than later.

Through two games however, I would imagine later.

When you’re frowning on the future, Glenn being mum, TTF not being optimistic, and Heinz being calm I know we are in trouble lol.

    Me? Frowning the future? Hardly.

I am simply acknowledging our current dilemmas as it stands currently. As Alex Koroza stated:

"Too inept talent wise yet too inept in coaching."

I know I am paraphrasing him but the fact remains is that this defense is simply not good and the offense cannot do it all alone. Ultimatley, what we are witnessing is something we have been witnessing for a while in the usual slow starts to the season.

However, I worry that, unlike last season, this slow start is going to have immense ramifications.... assuming it has not happened already.

Mahomes is a good young QB with good arm strength a nice quick release and goes through his progressions like a veteran. Of course the progression is look right then scan to the left and throw the ball to the guy running away from Davis or Burns.

Is he great not yet and maybe won't be but if he played our defense 16 times a year he would shatter every record in the books.

Davis was terrible with missed assignments and looks confused out there huge regression from week one .

Burns has the athletic tools but lacks technique to find the ball in the air, he is in position but just doesn't seem to find the ball soon enough.

Does KC have the best Oline in the league or did our defense just make it look that way.

I think our defense played terrible, shouldn't somebody have to answer for that?

Browns scored 18 against the saints in a dome lol. If we played the browns every week we would have a defense

Wrong, Mahomes lit up the Chargers also. He has 10 TDs and no ints thru the first 2 games.

2 games against lousy secondary's does not make a season. We shall see how good he is though when he faces some real defenses.

I wasn't too high on Mahomes coming out of college but it looks like I was wrong.

It's a short sample size but it is starting to look like the Chiefs were smart to move up and get him.

For those thinking Rudolph will be a bust because he played in the Big 12, maybe Mahomes' success may change that opinion.

Not to take anything away from Mahomes and he had an incredible game however they ran a stinking college offense, a college OFFENSE! And the collection of experiencedays and veteran coaches of a professional football team couldn't muster a single defense that would allow them to contest a single pass. This steamING turd pile lays right at the feet of the entire defense and coaching staff.

I will say that I have found QBs have a much easier time completing passes when the defense doesn’t bother to cover the receiver.

Mahomes is good but the defense was that bad. I've seen pretty horrible performances before, but the lack of communication yesterday was nearly unbelievable.

Yup. We likely win yesterday if the defense was even a LITTLE bit better. Ben was outrageously good for a guy who was obviously missing the deep pass. Just insanely good.

It's been said for years that this D was so predictable and they were basically running the same stuff forever. There has to be a lot if truth to it ,it would explain why it doesn't really matter who we face at QB they are going to play well...just look at last year. Starting QBs,back ups it doesn't really matter it's just a matter of the really talented QBs shredding us as opposed to others just playing well. It's much easier to perform against a D when you know what to expect.....again Chess vs Connect 4.
