No one can tell whether Ben is regressing from one game. The last playoff game against the Jaguars Ben played well. Last season's regular game against the Jags Ben played poorly. Every QB has good games and bad games.

Whether Ben truly is regressing or not he's the QB of the Steelers for a while. If he continues to stink then maybe Tomlin pulls him for Dobbs but he didn't pull Ben when we started 0-4 a few years ago.

And beating the Browns or any other team is never a sure thing and playing to a tie only means we are 0-0-1, not that Ben is regressing and Tomlin is horrible.

The problem is that you didn't argue against his opinions exactly. You argued against his character and/ or his fanhood (is that a word?).

Arguing opinions is what this board is all about. State your opinions by all means. Argue against statements you think are wrong. Give an opposing view.

But don't attack the person. That's bush league. Some people here have a rapport with each other and will take jabs in fun. Other than that, go after the message. Not the messenger.

To me, a fan is not a fan if they enjoy hating the team. Some of you have a very different definition of what a fan is. Some here claim to be "fans" only when we win and they seem to enjoy it more when we lose because then they can complain about the team. That's not me.

And I did argue against his opinions. I posted that Tomlin's Steelers were 13-3 last season. That's not horrible. We had 12 penalties, the Browns had 11. And 90% of the time Bos makes that kick.

I admit the one sentence about him being kookoo for cocoa puffs because we ran the ball before trying the kick and that somehow causing the kick to miss probably crossed the line. I should have just said I disagree.

Arguing opinions is what this board is all about? That's what everyone keeps saying but you only mean that towards the negative Steelers comments. My opinion that is supportive of the team is a problem but the anti-Steelers comments others make are more acceptable "opinions"?

You guys have completely changed the definitions. You are supposed to actually like the team.

Are you saying his post is factual and that Tomlin is horrible and Ben is regressing?

    Not a bit.

If Ben is regressing then what QB should we start?

Every player is regressing by their 15th season.

If you compare Ben's 2017 statistics with his 14 year average, his completion percentage was actually .1 higher than his career average, his yards total was his 4th best, his yards/g was 4th best, his TD's were tied for 4th best, his interceptions were up higher than average but not his worst ever, his sacks were his 3rd best ever. This idea that Ben is suddenly or steadily regressing is just not supported by the statistics.

You guys are over reacting to one bad game played in the rain.

Nice attempt to alter the semantics. Rather, I will ask my question again but in a different way.

Are the OP's statements opinions or not?

Don't alter the semantics while I'm altering the semantics.

Are the OP's statements opinions or not? You want to argue semantics. It was a dark and stormy night, but was it really stormy or windy, or rainy, or windy and rainy, and was it really night or knight?

    Boring.

Maybe Matrix requires all opinions posted on this forum to begin by stating “In my opinion..,” otherwise he interprets us posting them as facts.

So in my opinion Ben is regressing.
To clarify, that doesn’t mean Landry or Rudolph is a better quarterback for this team right now. Ic you look up the meaning of that word, you’ll find that a player can regress and still be very capable and talented. I believe Ben was a better QB 10 years ago then he is now. That’s what regressing means. In my opinion, Ben will right himself.
In my opinion, Tomlin is horrible. My bad for not clarifying that this statement was not a fact. Again, someone else can say he’s a great coach. It’s ok. I would just disagree and not lose my sh!t over it.

And in my opinion Matrix Probably needs to take a literacy or English class to better grasp some of the basics. Again, just an opinion. Not a fact.

You got that backwards. AQL is the one who wants to argue whether something is an opinion or not. I took your post as it was written.

Did Ben "regress" one game? Okay, he did. If you can't handle that then the NFL is not for you.

Ten years ago, 2008, Ben's completion percentage was 59.9%, he threw for 3,301 yards, 17 TD's, 15 interceptions, and his QB rating was 80.1.

Last season Ben's completion percentage was 64.2%, he threw for 4,251 yards, 28 TD, 14 interceptions, and his QB rating was 93.4.

Which season would you rather he had this year, the 2008 one or the 2017 one?

If Tomlin is so horrible, which NFL head coach's are better? Who should we hire?

Everything the Patriots do is always better, huh?

No thanks, I'll take the Steeler way.

Well... uh... yeah. Obviously. How many Super Bowls have the Patriots been to since 2011? 4... and they won 2.

How many Super Bowls have the Steelers been to since 2011? ZERO.

    'Nuff said.

So you cut out the 70's and the 80's and the 90's and the 2010's as if the only thing that matters to you is 2011 and beyond? Probably because you are too young. You didn't live through the horrible years, then the fantastic years, then more bad years, then a few good years followed by more so-so years, then see us rise up again. You're what, 20 years old, and you think you know something about the world, about the NFL, or about the Steelers?

You say you're a Steelers fan but all you do is hate on the Steelers.

And you say you hate the Patriots but all you do is support them.

Do you know why they say actions speak louder than words?
