New member - First post - my frustrations on yesterday’s game

Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just stumbled across this site recently or a million other reasons why he didn't post years ago? Maybe he just awoke from a coma,do you know anything about him? No you don't all you know is he hurt your feelings...I did read the whole thing and I'm sorry if he hurt your feelings by "talking bad" about the Steelers. Maybe " daddy " needs to give you a hug. You are certainly uptight....Yes exactly rubber bands are your style. Coming to a battle of wits unarmed....

 

I sometimes wonder if this is the reason why so many young bloods or new bloods or newbies(whatever we are calling them now) come in here with the prison yard mentality? It's like they pull the shiv out of their prison wallet and go right after the jugular. Funny thing to me is this is pretty tame compared to the national anthem fight last year. Just hope everyone stays, because the loss of one diminishes the community. Yes even HeinzMustard and Matrix

What Matrix is failing to realize is that in the OPs post that he offers praise to Conner at the end but his feelings are so hurt that he is looking right past that fact. So his whole spiel of haters never having anything positive to say is debunked. I just don't know why it's so hard for some of you guys to accept the way someone chooses to express themselves. Everyone is different in their own way. This is a place for opinions and discussions nothing more and nothing less...

 

Matrix, if everyone adopted your philosophies, and internet message boards were limited to just positive, cheery, fanboy type posts there probably wouldn't be too many Internet message boards.
I will concede that, for a 1st post and introduction, I probably came off overly negative. You will hear from me about how wonderful everything is after the first good game we play, I promise. As it pertains to posting about yesterday's game, there's not a lot of positive I took away from Cleveland, other than Connor, which I did mention. How about a great performance by the defense? Well, the Browns offense is awful, so I didn't think to get too excited about that one. TJ Watt was an absolute beast and will be fun to watch and a force all year. Yay TJ! It's so great to be alive and be a Steeler fan. I feel we should all realize how lucky we are to watch TJ Watt play.

The "it's only 1 game" stuff is complete garbage. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. This isn't basketball or baseball. I have a strong feeling this tie will be one we are looking back on in December/January saying "if only..." because that's almost always how it plays out. Barring a Brady injury, the Patriots should get their usual 12-14 wins again this year and vie for the #1 seed (although outside of the usual creampuffs in their division, they have a beast of a schedule). If our goal is the Super Bowl, that has to start with the goal of getting the 1 seed. I don't have a lot of faith in them beating the Pats in Foxboro based on the past. Sorry if that statement is too negative, but sometimes opinions play out that way..

 

The point that clearly flew over your head( not surprising) is that you don't know anything about the OP . Maybe it's even a woman we don't know...Somebody stepped on your black and gold glasses and you are hurt. You totally and conveniently overlooked some of the positivity in the OPs post because it didn't fit into your agenda to attack anyone who doesn't share your opinion.
I think my kids should play with guns? Play? No. When they are old enough though they will be educated on how to use one.

Where is Watt Wack when you need him....I need a dozen or so straw man Gifs ....**** is getting deep in here...

 

Damn there you are....I thought you were gonna leave those of us fighting your battle high and dry welcome aboard you seem to have a open mind about the good and the not so good when it comes to the team we all ' love'. Look forward to agreeing and disagreeing with you and everyone else who has a clue how this arena works...

 

People do have a right to express themselves. And other people have a right to disagree with that. You think it's only supposed to work your way.

I never said the OP or even Mustard did not have a right to be frustrated but I will say that it's not the best first post on a new forum especially after we played poorly.

I never said we should limit things to constant cheeriness. But I don't think things should be constant "the sky is falling" either and we definitely have those types here already.

Frustration is fine. We're all frustrated. The Steelers/Browns game was one of the worst by a team that I've seen in a long time. I think a lot of it is that you are throwing salt in an open wound. Yesterday's game is not the way you want to start a successful season.

Every game matters. Tie's can really bite you but it's in the books. It's something we're going to have to overcome. If we can win 13 games again, go 13-2-1, the tie probably won't matter much but it's way to early to know.

Beating the Pats in Foxborough isn't easy for anyone but right now we just need to beat the Chiefs and get a win.

 

So, how are you enjoying the forum so far?

I just assume HeinzMustard's negativity is based in shtick. The 'we're doomed', facepalm, 'the window has closed', all that stuff. I really can't argue with some of the team's shortcomings he points out, and to me he does it in an entertaining way.

 

Only as examples of extremes, both ends of the spectrum .

It`s fun to read differing opinions, and contribute to intelligent(or drunken) debates about our favorite team,
but the name calling, the absolute, never changing my point of view, because I am right, and you are wrong,
nature of some of these debates has turned me off..
It seems too much like the political "discussion" of the moment...
Some of our newer posters would do well to take advantage of the "ignore" button, because they really don`t
seem to want to hear any opinion that conflicts with their own...

It was about how this board works best, when people can disagree with each other about
how our team, can be the best with different players/coaches/ philosiphies, without calling each other names...
