Some people claim to be "fans" just to complain all the time because they are bitter about not getting some toy they wanted one Christmas.

It's not YOUR league. It's not about you getting YOUR way every game and with every player. It's the NFL. It's 32 teams. It's entertainment for everyone, not just you. If you only watch so you can find something to complain about on Monday then that is a reflection of YOU, not Ben, not Tomlin, and not the Steelers or the NFL.

What justifies the 5 turnovers and 12 penalties? Even if it is all Tomlin and Ben's fault, what are you going to do about it? Complain over and over and over and over forever? So you thought we would go undefeated? Why did you think that? That's on you, not the Steelers. No Steeler player promised you a perfect season.

I became a Steelers fan in the 70's when Terry Bradshaw won 4 super bowls for Pittsburgh and you know what those Pittsburgh fans did, they hung a Bradshaw doll by the neck at Three Rivers Stadium because he couldn't win a 5th. People like that don't deserve to be Steeler's fans. You don't appreciate anything other people have done for you. You like to put down a $1 billion franchise that's won SIX super bowls, more than any other team, because they can't meet your impossible standards. Apply those standards to yourself, not others, and get off your rear end and go buy yourself that toy you wanted but didn't get when you were a kid.

People who complain about complainers are just as bad? What if I come into your house for the first time and tell you that it stinks, you need to change this and that, and this thing over here is not good enough and that thing is horrible and blah, blah, blah, boo hoo hoo. Grow up. Get a real job and fix yourself. One tie against the Browns didn't ruin your whole life.

What the OP didn't mention is that out here on the Pacific Rim we're always in a bad mood especially after bad games cause we have to get up so early  to catch the games and chugging Kamikoze's at 10am is treacherous. :drinks:

    Okay, fixed it.

I remember when the NFL had a 14 game season.

I know it was just a typo but you had me all motivated about last season's record of 13-1 only to be outdone by Ben's rookie season at 15-1. I also think your points are well taken in that why does a "long time fan" wait to make a first post when all they have to offer are pent up vents? Where were the words of support after each of the 13 wins last season? This seems to be the way of the Yelp world we now live in.

We have people here who NEVER say good things about the Steelers. Every post is "Tomlin is horrible." Or "They wasted a draft pick." Or "They should have done this or that." And the Steelers have only won six super bowls. We could be Lions fans or Cardinals fans or Chargers fans or lowly Browns fans but we're not. We're the m'fn Pittsburgh Steelers fans.

The off season was long. Football is back. Yesterday I drove 30 miles to my long time sports bar to watch the game even though I could have stayed home and watched it on the free Sunday Ticket. That Browns tie game was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. I stood for the whole overtime.

The NFL is entertainment, it's not about fixing your life or giving you something you think you deserve.

So wait he's not a fan or anyone else who witnesses somethings they don't like and voices a opinion isn't a fan either. So I guess if you're a real " fan" you are only allowed to sit there and show no emotion and have no opinion of what you are watching. Just like you said its entertainment,so why are you taking a fans right to criticize so personal? . So someone can't voice a opinion because they can't do something about it...that sounds logical. Sports is entertainment and a escape and expressing yourself on a message board isn't nearly the same as walking into a strangers house and acting like a classless POS. , especially my house because you wouldn't be leaving intact.

" it's not your league,it's not about getting your way with every game and every player"...
Who the heck is saying any of this? I'd say it's a wee bit of hyperbole on your part because of some
fan-atics criticism. It sounds like it's you who needs a toy or maybe a cookie..
The whole entire sports and entertainment industry is based on conjecture and opinion....should we shut down sports talk radio and television? Come back to reality I think TheMatrixHasYou....

I love my team and I know there may be as big a fan as me but I know for a fact there is none bigger.
That being said it's within my rights as a fan someone who invests as much time and emotion as I do to be able to criticize whenever I feel like it....

I don't know why some of you guys take it so personal like its a attack against you. It's simple if you don't like what someone has to say then don't read it or disregard it after you do. The entire idea behind any message board is to have discussions. If everyone agreed on everything like robots....guess what?

He waited years and years and years and didn't come in here after we won the super bowl or after we won 13 games and had a tough playoff game ahead of us or after we drafted some player he liked or even during the off season when there is no football. He just wanted to complain because we couldn't beat the Browns. Big deal. So what. They've been drafting top ten forever.

And I have all the toys I want, well, except for a P-51 mustang but there's still time for that.

The whole sports industry is based upon conjecture and opinion? It's based upon teams being as equal as possible so no one knows what's going to happen. If the Steelers won every game and won the super bowl every year, year after year, there wouldn't be an NFL. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to be difficult. If it was too easy it wouldn't be popular. It's not about you getting YOUR way.

What if the only thing someone does is complain?

There was this guy named Monco on another Steelers board. He complained and complained and complained about the Steelers for years. Then we won the super bowl against the Cardinals and do you know what he did, he posted a very long post about all the mistakes the team made in the game and how we seriously screwed up and should have won the game 52-3.

That's someone who is a constant critic because it makes them feel better about themselves. They didn't get the life they wanted so it makes them feel good to put great things down.

What game did you watch? Steelers were down by 2 scores for most of the game. There was no "almost" to it. Steelers were beaten soundly.

And the 13-3 record was a joke. Barely beating backup QBs sand-bagged some wins. The Steelers 2017 team was the worst 13-3 team in NFL history, IMO. The '95 Chiefs were better.

We were down by 2 scores for most of the game? Then what happened? The game got exciting.

We were beaten soundly? You mean by 3 points.

13-3 is a joke? And six super bowl victories is what?

The Steelers 2017 team was the worst 13-3 team in NFL history? So your standard for the team is that they win every game 52-0 and win the super bowl every year? Can you live up to that standard?

What team do you think is the best in the NFL? Can they live up to your impossible standards?

Is there anything you like about the Steelers?

Steelers pulled within 3 in the last minute. Too little, too late. And yes... the 13-3 record last year was a damn joke.

After week 1, the Patriots are the best overall team and will probably make it to another Super Bowl if Brady stays healthy. The Patriots underrated defense did a good job vs. Watson and the Texans, who were branded by many as one of the top up-and-coming teams for 2018. The Patriots offense is sharp and in-sync as usual... unlike the Steelers.

I wish the Steelers could harness their talent as well as the Patriots do.... and have the discipline the Patriots have year in and year out.

And for the record, I hate the Patriots with the passion of 10,000 exploding supernovae.

I got news for you, the great Patriots lost the super bowl last year to a backup QB. And they won five and lost five super bowls. They are .500.

The Steelers, the team you hate, has won SIX super bowls and lost two. We are .750 in super bowls.

Jesus said you can know a person by their fruit. If all you do is complain then that says more about you then the thing you are complaining about.

2 of the Patriots SB losses (before Brady): vs. '85 Bears and '96 Packers. Not exactly slackers.

A backup QB (Foles) who got a win and beat a playoff team in week 1. Unlike the Steelers who tied a previously 0-16 team that has only won one game in the past 2 years.

    U mad bro?

You're the one who constantly posts negative and bitter things about the Steelers. Seems you're the one who's mad. Angry. Bitter. Resentful. The window has shut, huh?

No, not mad... just being honest and truthful about the current state of the team. This is not a team that will win a playoff game, much less even qualify for the playoffs. Steelers are flying a burning plane.

You can't name a single thing you like about the Steelers.

I'm not from Pittsburgh. I've never even been there, but I like that the Steelers we're losers for decades and then rose from the ashes to win four super bowls before anyone else. I like that all the other kids at my school thought the Cowboys were going to beat the Steelers in '76 and '79 and I told them the Steelers would win and they did both times. I like that the team owner comes from immigrants. I like that the name "Steelers" comes from steel, a name that comes from hard working people who produce american steel for tall american buildings and long american bridges and big american aircraft carriers. I like that the team doesn't have cheerleaders. I can look at a Playboy if I want to see that stuff.

You were probably born a Steeler "fan" and never had much of a choice in the matter. Maybe that's why you dislike them so much? Daddy forced you to be a Steeler fan even though you didn't like sports.

I chose to be a Steeler fan when I was eight years old.

Everyone gets frustrated but not everyone stays frustrated all the time. Those people are making a choice to be that way. They didn't get something they wanted growing up so they are pissed off and they are going to take it out on everyone they can. Daddy didn't hug them enough or at all, boo hoo hoo.
