Ben! Understand why Rudolph was draft? Why Dobbs was retained?

Wonder if either one could score three TD's on three consecutive plays.

Ben played a bad game. He has one of these every year. Nothing new.
We’ll get into a rhythm. Don’t go all nuts over one bad game.

I do wonder if Ben's best football is behind him.

Ben always plays like crap the 1st game of the season and some Yinzers always freak out about it.

It’s become a sort of annual rite of passage or something.

At this stage I’m sure it is, but that doesn’t mean he’s done.
1 bad game let’s keep it in perspective.
Plus the guy who started this thread hates Ben.

Or could it be Ben threw 5 passes in live action in the preseason.

Unless someone can convince me that Dobbs would have turned it over 5 times I am not going to immediately reject the idea that we might have won with him at QB. That said, obviously you have to stick with Ben but it doesn't change the fact that he absolutely blew this game.

Right because Ben was clamoring for more preseason time and would have reacted really well to Tomlin forcing him to play more.

Who gives a ****. Tomlin is the coach and it's his call who doesnt play. Sorry but if Brady can play in all but the final preseason game so can Ben. Ben's not the o e saying I'm not playing. Its Tomlin.

Ok, so we are going to blame the head coach for trusting his 14 year veteran franchise QB to get himself ready for the season and not play incompetently? I really don't get the desire to do mental gymnastics in order to blame anyone other than the player who was on the field playing terribly. Ben was horrible and it is no one's fault but Ben's.

Damn straight I will but the flip side is calling him out when he obviously sucks. He sucked today and is the primary reason we lost.

Even though Haley's play calling was suspect, he did keep Ben accountable.

I get the sense after today that "Let Ben be Ben" is back.

    For better or for worse.

Yes when the QB is clearly rusty and barely played in the preseason and was completely that squarely falls on the head coach. Game action and practice are two different stories

Ben is getting much better at poorly playing his game. His game today was really hard to watch you can basically see the... I cant' do this S**t no more in his facial.

Ben needs to walk away for the sake of Steeler Nation cause Ben's looking more and more like a fish out of water struggling to stay alive. Please Ben, hand over the ball and head to the tropics to work your golf game.

He had a bad game it happens. BUT

We were still in the game and he's dangerous as long as he's in there. Look what he did even with the bad today. He came in and with little to no time on the clock he won the game for us IF Boz doesn't miss. That ability belongs only to the best. Ben can beat you in seconds not minutes

We lose Roethlisberger and you'll see how long a season can be.

Ok. I think it is on Ben after 14 years to know how to get ready. Bottom line for me is that whatever Tomlin did wrong Ben was on the field and he stunk, even if you can blame several of the turnovers on other people.

So is he supposed to tell Tomlin no I'm playing in the preseason?
