But thats the thing ,he doesn't want to sign for the current money deal. He'd rather lose out on 9 game checks than sign a deal thats beneath him .He thinks he is holding the steelers hostage ,but in my eyes he's only hurting himself for the future of his career .

It can be done. Leveon would have to agree to be traded and to sign the tag with the new team. There would have to be an understanding that Bell would sign a long term deal with the new team after the season. That means the new team would have to agree in advance that they are willing to pony up to Bells demands.

I think this is a possibility, because at this point I don't think Bell wants to be here.

Once a team makes an offer it will be for a multiple year deal not for his tag money, once bell signs the new deal his tag is null and void, and of course I expect the steelers would want some draft pick compensation...

Mmm. I`m thinking if he does not sign before the Saturday 4 p.m. deadline to play Sunday, he is probably going to be sitting out a long time or until traded. Not playing against the Browns is just a poke in the eye. Sitting out multiple weeks is burning the bridges IMO.

I think Bell and his Agent know that's not going to happen.

I also believe Bell & his agent has determined this is the last year in Steel town and his next FA contract is priority to the point he would rather sit and lose money now to be healthy and make much more money in years to come.

When a player sits many games to save tread on the tires and the agent wants detailed plans on his usage for the upcoming games then it's time he goes..... Getting compensation is now his only value to our team

Don't forget James Harrison said he should do this last week on a morning sports talk show.

Raiders, with all those draft picks. That could happen. I'd prefer him going to the NFC but I'd do a deal with the Raiders. Packers is another likely landing spot, again, draft picks to spare but just paid a boat load to Rodgers.

Seahawks, 49ers, Raiders, Green Bay could be ideal trade partners.

But even if you work a trade out, it would not be much for what you expect in return. Steelers would likely get maybe a 2nd rounder at best.

Reason being that Bell would have sign the tag, Steelers would trade him. They new team is in the same boat as the Steeler, as they can't work a deal until after the season. You could hopefully work a good faith deal, but that doesn't mean Bell wouldn't want to test waters of FA or the new team could say no thanks and not do the good faith deal agreed too.

So basically at best case scenario your trading for a one year rental player, therefore 2nd rounder at best.

Your going to get a 3rd rounder in 2020 more than likely as a comp pick, when he leaves via free agency anyway.

So more than likely the three scenarios are.

Bell sits out till week 10, gets his year of eligibility toward free agency forfeits 7.68 million of salary.

Bell comes sooner and starts collecting.

Steelers rescind the tag, which I think is unlikely as they would really not want to give away a 3rd round comp pick.

49ers make a lot of sense. I know they paid alot but I can't see McKinnon carrying the load even when healthy.

We would only see him every 4 years.

They had their chance to trade him and blew it when they put that stupid exclusive tag on him, I blame them for bringing all this down on themselves.....

When did they have the chance to trade him? If they didn’t tag him with one of the tags, he was a FA.

That’s what I meant by “one” of the tags. I wasn’t really thinking of that as a “trade”.

Personally, I thought they should have used the non exclusive tag.
