Oh no, not another Bell thread...

But good for you, Ramon. Glad to see Bells teammates calling this selfish punk beeyotch out.

And I think Ramon is the Steelers union rep if I'm not mistaken. So for him to do this kinda makes a statement.

Ike Taylor is on twitter trying to shame the Oline for turning on Bell saying they forgot when he bought them all watches. I'm sorry Ike are you really trying to take some sort of moral high ground mister I got fired for sending pictures of your junk to a coworker? Your moral compass doesn't exactly point north.

If anybody on here steps outside their Steelers bubble they will see that most people who aren't Steelers fans are siding with Bell.

So because they don't have a vested interest in the teams success but rather wanr to see someone get a huge payday for acting like an ass that makes them right ?

Bell is certainly not focused on a SB run this year. The Oline is, f*** Bell.

Maybe Ike should concentrate on not filming himself in the shower and leave current Steelers business to current Steelers players.

But apparently something else is pointing north.

    I couldn't resist.

I don't know if it was good on Ramon because he brought money into it. I can understand players being upset he isn't here, but when you bring numbers into it will cause tension if/when LevBell comes back.

most of them are "fake woke" cmon bruhhhh pay the man dawg tha ownerz make billions!" meanwhile, every person on here and commenting on bell works for a corporation with a WAY higer wage gap when you compare the top guy to the average worker, maybe they should take a look in the mirror and stop worrying about just another dude "securing a bag homie!". I'm a fan of the Steelers, not Bell cashing in and effing up the salary cap to make moves for the defense in the upcoming seasons

That's fine but you are biased by your fandom. As a fan I get being annoyed with what Bell is doing but when I stop looking at it as a fan I can understand why he is doing it. It isn't what I think I would do but that doesn't mean he is doing anything wrong.

If he makes 14.5 million this year plus the 12 he made last year plus whatever his rookie signing bonus and contract was the dude has made probably 35 million dollars in 6 years. I mean do you hear some of yourselves. If he was intelligent, which he is not, even if he got a career ending injury this year he and his family would have the greatest lives anyone on this board could ever imagine. I mean this is absurd. Nothing more than him crying because his position is disrespected by owners and seeing other positions get crazy contracts

I live in the heart of Vikings country but lots of football fans that root for the Packers, the Bears, the Pats, the Lions the Niners and every one of them has said that he is being an idiot. So yeah its not a fan bias that is motivating comments

He thinks it is worth giving up some of his money this year to better insure that he is healthy to sign a huge deal next year. I don't personally think the calculation makes sense, but here is the thing: it isn't our decision to make. It is Bell's decision to make. I don't like the decision he has made to this point but again it isn't mine to make.

Oh should i should just back Bell over the team i've loved for years no matter what, riiiiight. Nah man i'm good on that, dude is 27 with injuries and drug problems that gets 400 touches year when he is in there and runs a 4.7 40 and plays hop scotch and gets outscored by fournette in heinz field. Don't think the steelers should tie up that much in cap space over that man, sorry about your man crush

I think most people who aren't emotional about it and take some time to think about the situation Bell is in are going to side with Bell or be neutral. He came into the league as a desirable entity. He had to go to a particular team without any say in what team. He had to sign a deal the major terms of which were mostly already determined by someone other than himself. When he finally got to the end of that deal and was going to have some say in his career, he got tagged and had to play under a deal he had no say over with a team he had no say in choosing, and without the security of a long term deal. Then it happened again. During this time he has been the best or one of the best at his position; someone every single team would love to have. He wasn't in the league when the current rules were agreed to so he again had no say in any of this. Maybe he is finally just happy to be able to do something on his own terms, even if those terms are douchie. Regardless, he has not broken any rules. He is abiding by the terms of the CBA he didn't have a say in creating or accepting and using what the rules allow to give him some control over his situation. And we shouldn't forget that his job is most likely going to leave him a physical wreck and possibly a mental wreck as well. But yeah, he's totally wrong to be frustrated with his current situation because he makes more money than we do.

I'm telling you in a company of over 2500 employees with the vast majority of football fans being pro-viking and not emotionally invested in the Bell drama the overwhelming response was against what Bell is doing. Take from that what you will.

As for me I'm about as detached and rational on the subject as a Steele fan can be and my opinion is that at no point has Bell handled the situation in a professional manner. Footballanalyst98 has continued to bring up Kirk Cousins, now there is a player who was in a similar situation but handled his business in a professional manner. Now if Bell or his agent had concerns for his workload they should have been addressed with Coach Tomlin. Kinda of hard to complain about wear and tear when you repeatedly in front of cameras said you want to be a 3 down back, a bellcow, and so on. The ginie is out of the bottle now.

It’s not what Bell is doing, it’s how he is doing it. The business side I have supported from the beginning. The act like a jackass part no one should support. If he wants to sit out the first 10 games, fine, business decision. Have the courtesy and professionalism to say so.

Personally, I just think he is too dumb to do so. Crap, the guy actually thinks he can rap.

When he declared for the draft he knew the possibilities and knew the terms of the CBA. You're mad because at a team tied up 14 mil in cap space and the guy doesn't show up. He's being fishy about it is why people are upset. Declare you're done for the season instead of sending mixed signals.

He's apparently willing to take it when he thinks he is being fairly compensated. He apparently does not feel so now so he is possibly going to not sign until he decides it is worth it. The Steelers knew this was a possibility. If they wanted to avoid it they should have given him what he needed to sign the deal or taken other measures (rescind the tag, cut him, whatever). They decided he wasn't worth what he wanted so they used their rights under the CBA to franchise tag him again, thus giving him very little say in his future. For the Steelers to now act outraged that Bell is using his rights under the CBA to the fullest is disingenuous. They were aware of this possibility.
