Funny how you start from 91 to try to pit the argument in our favor. I cant start from 2001. Who is the most successful since then?

Correct they were bad I wouldn't say ne was terrible they made a few sbs. Colts did suck for decades until manning but look what happen with luck healthy. 3 straight playoff years. Watch how good philly will be for the next decade if wentz can come back fully healthy.

And you all keep bringing up what ne does as to why we should do the same. Your argument is anyone in the league outside of Rodgers is as good as brady?

When did qb become the position to get in free agency. That has been an anomaly and only because of injury like brees and manning. Not a guy fully healthy at qb and a first team all pro and team just says hey you can have him. The closest that has happened is kirk cousins. And because what did I just say? That was green bay IN THE PAST. Not recently as this offseason. They have in the past been that way so the agent has been talking about the bigger body of work and what the word about them HAS BEEN. it will take a few years for that to change and once again the browns could have had Favre and then Rodgers and they too would have been good and not missed the playoffs recently. I dont find the new packers regime as a disservice. I did find the old ones as one. Packers went out this year and got a Jimmy Graham, a mo wilkerson, was trying to get a khalil mack. Their new gm even said he wont do things the way they did in the past.

I get the injury part of this. Im talking about the notion that the players were somehow on Bells side in all of this. Fact of the matter is they are not and were not. Seems to me his teammates have been biting their tongues for quite a while and frustration has finally boiled over.

It would tbh depend on my situation. If I'm selling the lawnmower at that price to get rid of due to the need of cash then yes I would take the more money and explain to him the situation. If I got rid of it just because I got a new one or I no longer need it than I would let the neighbor take it.

Correct so why is it a problem of him not showing up. Under the CBA he doesn't have to. He though as you can see is causing locker room problems.

Jimmy smith for bmore did after getting suspended and having season ending injuries. Gurantee you if josh Gordon is first team all pro( which when right he's maybe the most talented wr in the nfl) cle will give him more than 10 million guranteed and he's had far more problems than anyone. Odell has shown immaturity and has been suspended and he got 65 million guranteed...

    Breaking News:
    Leveon Bell Reports to Practice

As part of private, on-going, negotiations, Kevin Colbert and Adisa Bakari have reached an agreement that will allow Leveon Bell to return to Steelers practice on Thursday. The NFL mandated deadline for negotiating a long term contract has passed. So, Bakari and Colbert had to come up with an incentive package that would entice Leveon to re-join the team. Thus the Pittsburgh Steelers have entered into a sponsorship agreement with Mama Jeans BBW Gentleman's Club on the South Side. Leveon Bell will forego the admission fee when he visits, and Art Rooney will provide Bell with 100 crisp $1 bills every time Bell decides to go. Please join the Steelers in supporting this local establishment.

All we have to go on is what they said. Anything else is pure speculation.

I think behind closed doors, yeah, they probably wanted him in camp but I don't believe for a second it bothered them like it does now. They understood what he was doing.

Now, the games matter, it effects them, takes it to a different level.

From 2001, I believe they are the second best team, behind only NE in that time. Still doesn't support your argument.

Funny that you don't understand this concept. Hell, if you want me to go back to their inception, thats fine, still the most successful in terms of SB's. Wasn't that your original measuring stick for successful

    Either way, you're wrong.

I don't want anything ugly to happen to him.

I just want him gone. I've followed this team for 42 years and no player is bigger than the team. He wants to go...LEAVE.

    I've already moved on.

But we're talking now. Not how teams were run 20+ years ago. This is a different world in sports now. Players are starting to speak up. Starting to try to gain more power and control. Cant compare the old to now. This isn't the same nfl even from 2010 the last time we were in the sb. We're talking now. My argument was never 20 years ago. You initially brought up 91. Not me I was speaking on the last 5-6 years.

Now whos cherry picking a timeline for their argument.

The game has changed from an X's and 0's standpoint, thats it.

Just because kids coming out today are softer and more whiney doesn't mean organizations should fork over whatever a player asks for. Steelers remain competitive and in the hunt because they know how to handle their finances.

The Falcons have recently been competitive. Julio had just got a deal a year ago and they caved to his wishes in the offseason. The giants have won a sb more recently than pitt and only sucked last yr due to injuries everywhere. They just gave odell a record breaking pay day in GURANTEED MONEY. Raiders didnt bow down to khalil mack but got rid of him when they saw they wouldnt pay him. Rams paid aaron Donald and they are in contention. Most teams are just paying guys as they dont want to lose generational talents. Pitt period just doesnt give out high gurantee money regardless of who you are. Philly will give wentz and all other important pieces top gurantees. The chiefs gave sammy Watkins 30 million guranteed and he cant play a full season to save his life. The pack we already went over them this offseason. Saints have a young team but they will pay. Cowboys obviously will pay. I can go on with other "contenders"

How much did Atlanta pay Julio? Who else on the team besides Ryan and him making big bucks? That Mack contract is going to cripple the Bears. Giants havent been contenders in a while, Rams are a young team, Goff still on a rookie deal, look what happened to Seattle once Wilson got paid. You don't understand finances and the effects it has on a team to pay ridiculous contracts.

By the way, Steelers offered 33 million guaranteed, thats more then what Watkins got. You ignore the fact that the Steelers have a lot of money tied up in a lot of people, Ben, AB, the O-line as well as some on defense. You ignore the fact that the Steelers offerer of a 70 million, 33 million guaranteed, 45 million in the first 3 years is a damn good contract for Bell. You believe Bell should be paid any number he wants, I dont think you'd balk if he was demanding a 100 mil a year.

Once Wilson got paid everyone got old and also it was some team descension. Every other position doesnt age as well as an. Sherman got old, chancellor retired due to career ending injury, bennet old, earl thomas is the lone remainder and they were actively trading him but just asking for too high of an asking price. Only guy who still remains is Wagner plus that sb decision caused problems within. And my point about chicago was OAKLAND GOT RID OF MACK when they didnt want to pay him. Why couldnt they have gotten rid of leveon when free agency first started? And wrong leveon was only offered 10 million guranteed. And the point is Watkins shouldn't pay wise be any where near leveon. And lol every team has to pay the same amount of players as Pitt they arent mutually exclusive. Bell's deal in sure OVERALL WAS FINE it was the guranteed money he had a problem with. Steelers dont highly gurantee anybody. And before last season the giants were looked at as SB contenders but injuries and no running game derailed them. They are tbh close to par with the eagles in terms of talent now with saquon and them improving their oline.

I've never debated someone so clearly out of their depth. I'm done. Open your eyes, learn.

You're wrong about Bells contract, among everything else you just posted.

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/up-to-the...-be-surprised-if-Bell-held-out-until-November

I put a link for you.

    It's his speculation at best.

His rationale is that he does not believe/heard of any trade interest in Bell at his current price (which I find hard to believe there isn't any). I doubt he's had an interview with Colbert where Colbert expresses his intentions. He believes he'll be signing the Franchise tag on Saturday to collect his 800+ thousand dollar paycheck.

I don't think this will be the case because 1) his agent has expressed a concept of preserving Bell for free agency next year and 2) Bell would be at the mercy of the Steelers potentially trading him before week 8, 3) It's almost guaranteed that if he reports early, he will get 400 touches on the season which presents an injury risk, which could derail his entire plan to get paid 17 mil a year guaranteed for the next 5 years.

What?! Breaking news Bell is going to report! unbeleivable, so maybe he does care... now he has to get out of the doghouse, wow, if it was my call he will NOT suite up for sunday (pretty obvious), and see very limited action week 2, and go from there,

Who knows. I'm speculating at this point also. I personally would be shocked if Bell shows up Saturday for the reasons stated.
