Just stating facts. They will of course have no problem OVERALL making you for the length of the contract the highest paid but they dont gurantee large amounts up front. The pats dont either but they are an anomaly. It's a old school mentality thing. It's why gruden got mack out of oak town.

Like I've stated before, everyone outside of steeler nation sides with bell. The only people who side with bell are the ppl within steelers nation. Players understand. Certain other teams understand.

    Sounds like it.

I’m really not worried though. I think Conner is up for it and Bell has missed significant time in the past.

Maybe Samuells will be a pleasant surprise, too.

Didn’t have the balls to pay him? The offered him a $70 million contract.
Don’t even start yapping about guaranteed money. You play you get paid. You get hurt collect Workman’s Comp. If you get disabled apply for disability. But why do these players think they should get paid millions up front.

Lol no, they don’t. This isn’t a hold out for more money, which players do understand even if it doesn’t please them. But there is no more money to be had now, Steelers can’t pay anymore per rules. That time came and went. This is pure selfishness by Bell.

Becuaae the Steelers are not the only team in the nfl and certain teams are willing to pay all that money upfront. The problem is Pitt hasnt given bell the opportunity to pursue othe suitors.

They knew they couldn't come to an agreement last year. Seriously did they think he would go down on offer after being considered universally as the best rb, being first team all pro and pro bowl, and considered by his peers and football analysts and aficionados as a top 10 player in the nfl. Literally every credible list I've saw has him as a top ten player. If khalil mack just got what 90 million you dont think leveon cant get what 45 at least? If odell just got 65 you dont think on the market he can get more than TEN MILLION GURANTEED.

Whatever. If he’s not happy with what the Steelers offered then just be a man and say I’m flat out not going to play for you anymore.
You can go on all you want, but 14.5 million is a nice salary for one season and if he signs it’s guaranteed.
Why do some of these players think that they’re owed multi year deals?

I suspect Bell recently told certain players (Pouncey) that he was definitely coming that Monday...Didn’t show up, Pouncey and co. Had to make another excuse for him. Per source they gave him a day to come in before they let him have it...

Then his agent spouts all these excuses. The o line took it personally...they backed him allllll off season and then no show, no call, except having his agent say the exact opposite of Bell very recently told them..
You’re word between brothers is your bond and clearly they felt disrespected.

Also Found it funny, Bells agent cited the Steelers and Packers as teams who were outdated in how they work contracts. Funny, along with NE those teams are the model of consistency in the NFL...I would have loved to call him out on that. Lol

Given him the opportunity? He hasn’t yet been eligible for that opportunity.

I just told you why. Because it's someone willing to pay them as there are multiple teams in the nfl. Khalil mack is a prime example. And he had no say whether he wanted to play or not. Pitt franchised tagged him. Do you seriously think if he was a free agent this past offseason he wouldnt be elsewhere.

He could have been a free agent if Pitt didnt tag him.

Ne is the only recent sb champ that models their team that way.

It didn’t go down, the offer this year succeeded the contract offer last year.

And you’re ignoring market value. There is a market set for each position. Mack’s salary has nothing to do with Bells, you have to look at RBs as a comparison. That’s how markets are set.

Steelers actually paid more money up front (on the back end of the deal) to Brown on his last deal, to try to keep him happy. They just made him the highest paid at his position prior to the recent OBJ deal.

If you like a team that mismanages and over pays on contracts I would suggest being a Redskins fan.

Steelers have been spending up to the cap level every year. It's not like they have tons of cap space to deal with every year, and do nothing to keep or sign other players.

So. He could have been a Free Agent if Pittsburgh cut him his rookie year.
    He hasn’t been eligible yet.

Ya think it's part of the reason why NE and Pittsburgh stay competitive....it's a salary cap league with careers that can end in a instant. It's also performance driven....Who you want to pay not to play....

His signing bonus which is the only gurantee was his 19 million at the start of the deal. And almost every team aside of ne and oak since gruden arrives deals with contracts the new way. Including even green bay since they have gotten rid of their old gm.
