Maybe not too. Do we really need 5 safeties especially only one that has the ability to play FS and there are plenty questions about that as well. So we need 5 safeties and only 4 OLBs with only two of those that can actually rush the passer. Not barking at you but I seriously question some of the rationale. I'm pretty upset right now at a couple of the moves but I'm gonna wait until the dust settles.....

 

The Steelers really got over on the Raiders, they got a 3rd pick for Martavis Bryant who the Raiders cut today . There are reports he's facing another suspension, I believe they used that 3rd pick on Mason Rudolph .

 

I thought you were talking about Brian Allen.

 

Because he had a decent preseason and Frazier showed absolutely nothing.

 

I'm glad they kept Marcus Allen and cut Behre. The latter just can't play on defense. Marcus Allen is a good enough special teams player in his own right to justify holding on to his upside in that battle.

I wonder if Ridley is the cut when they activate Bell.

I doubt this is the final roster. They have to be checking the cuts from other teams for help at tackle, tight end and inside linebacker.

Cutting Jones presents a very large risk. Obviously, they are toast if Roethlisberger suffers a major injury, but what about one that puts him down for just a few games? Jones was by far their best chance if the No. 2 quarterback has to take significant snaps this season.

 

Behre might be coming back though

 

I am talking about Brian Allen I hate the fact he was cut and they are gonna bring back Berhe who would give them 6 safeties and even 5 if they move someone to the PS or injured. Berhe can't even play safety he's horrible. Just another STs ace...don't we have enough of those guys. I'm pretty pissed about the Allen and Adams cuts. Only 4 OLBs and 6 WRs one of them won't even dress. There has to be a few different moves that are gonna happen. We can't go into the season with 4 OLBs....

 

This isn't the final roster I'm sure, Behre is in the category of players like DHB and Matakevich good special teams players but you don't want them on the field besides that.

I really hope they bring Allen back. He has a ton of potential.

 

And Hilton is injured? Did I miss that? When did that happen?

 

I just don't see the love Sutton receives. With the word being Behr is coming back that will make 6 safeties .why do you need 6 safeties.

I'm glad to see someone is as upset as me. I don't know why they need all these safeties either. I know Berhe and Allen play different positions but the point is Berhe can't play his at all. I could see if he was a FS but he's not,so now we have 4 SSs and a question mark at FS. Also who are our man cover corners besides Haden and Burns and potentially Sutton who we really don't know about yet. Are we gonna trust Sensabaugh? I'm really hope we can luck out and get Allen back ,he was a nice piece of clay that we were molding. I don't see how he fell out of favor so fast....

 

All the more reason to keep Allen....

 

I think that their thinking on Brian Allen will be that he gave up an 80 yard play and then again on Thursday went all out for a pick and gave up a first down completion and so other teams wont be in love with his size and what if factor and so they can put him on the PS and continue to develop him

 

You mean we actually have CBs that are in position to make plays on the football....I get your point,did he regress from last year when he was good enough to be kept on the 53. He's a work in progress and we kept guys who can't play their position and guys who would be home waiting for their phone to ring and 6WRs of which one will not dress. Just a lot of head scratchers.....

 

Last year I think they were really concerned that teams saw Allens height and were intrigued just like the Steelers and didn't want him getting poached but maybe feel this year there is more tape on him and the "what if " factor is less appealing so teams won't take a risk on snatching him off the Steelers squad

 

You might be right but it's gonna suck if you're not....

 

Where are we getting the idea that it is Berhe? They would be much better off finding a backup tackle or tight end, the latter being especially true if McDonald is the one who goes on IR.

 

They have their back up in Banner. I want to see what Munch can do we this behemoth .
