Cut Landry.. If Mason or Dobbs can't handle it after a game with Ben down. Sign Landry back up. He will be at home.

If the team truly thinks Dobbs has potential to improve and battle Mason for starting QB why not cut LJ? We all know LJ will never be the starter and if Ben gets hurt for any stretch of games this season we are done anyways. So why hold on to LJ because he’s slightly or even marginally better than the two young guys right now? He would be the worst QB starting in the NFL if Ben was hurt so who cares?

Ben likes Landry Jones as #2 QB. He's not going anywhere.

With Dobbs starting the entire last pre-season game (per Tomlin statement), they are attempting to showcase his talents. No other reason. If it were something else Rudolph would get reps as well.

The broncos have a 7th round draft pick starting for them this year in case keenum and they have their 1st round draft pick paxton lynch fighting to just be the 2 or 3, thats how crazy the QB carousel is presently in the nfl........

Dobbs and Mason can't be trusted as #2 QB.

LJ has started 5 games since he was drafted, and has a 3-2 record, he is not hurting no one lol

Actually if you include his win over the cardinals in relief of vick he is 4-2:

Landry Jones threw two touchdown passes to Martavis Bryant in relief of Michael Vick and the Pittsburgh Steelers rallied for a 25-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals week 6 2015.

Actually one of his wins was when he was replaced by Ben after three minutes. He gets credit since he started, but he stink.
All three of his wins came against the Browns.
    The guy is nothing special.

No need arguing with you, you hate landry so no need to discuss it any further, i'm done, besides I dont care who they cut, it's up to them if they want an inexperienced backup to lead this team if ben goes down, OUT....

Who's arguing? You said he won game against the Cardinals. That doesn't count towards his WinTOTAL. No need to get mad at me I don't make the rules.
Do I think he deserves credit for that win? Yes. But by the same token then he can't get credit for the win against the clowns where Ben replaced him after 3 minutes.

The facts are he's 3-2 as a starter with all 3 wins coming against the Browns. Nothing special. And for the record I don't hate him, I just think he's replaceable.

Probably not. The kink is that Dobbs was a 4th round pick a year ago and essentially a "wasted pick" if he is cut with another team picking him up off of waivers. That with adding in Jones is in the final year of his contract.

The decision to draft Mason was probably more due to the perceived value pick with getting Mason in the third more than it having to do with the lack of performance from Dobbs.

After all, all the Steelers front office had to observe Dobbs was a rookie year with limited playing time. IMO.

Also, Steelers fans tend to get more into the game and their team then a majority of other teams. For example ask your basic Dolphins fan about the team and they'll bring up teal uniforms, nice weather, and Dan Marino. In my experience anyways.

    Yeah, thats mature.

They care so much about Bens input on personnel matters that they went and drafted Mason.

Showcase him for what? For a possible trade? Thats the only way that makes sense and I seriously doubt that is the reason. If Dobbs was gone already, he wouldn't be seeing any snaps this week.

Well... Ben keeps whining about retirement. It is well documented. What is the front office supposed to do?

Threatening to retire because you’re miserable playing for your OC is a real possibility, retiring because you don't agree with the backup QB they cut is never going to happen.

He whined when Rudolph was drafted... wondered about Landry Jones and Josh Dobbs futures. Ben needed a fire lit under him. Problem solved.

That’s really not a good argument. You could literally say that about any QB.
Look I’m ok with Landry Jones as a backup. I’m just saying he’s replaceable. His record alone tells us that. 3 wins in 5 starts all against the Browns. 2 of those were the last game of the season where we already had our playoff seeding set. The other he was ineffective and yanked after 3-1/2 minutes and Ben came in and killed the browns.
He did come in and relieve Vick and got a nice win against the Cardinals a couple years ago. For me he’s much like Tyler Matakevich in the sense we’ve already seen pretty much what he’s capable of and we have a young guy who looks to be just as good with the possibility and excitement of being much better.

I'm not quite sure that's what Tomlin said. I think I read where Dobbs I'd gonna get the start because the other 3 guys all got one. It will most likely be Dobbs to start and Rudolph to finish...

Take it easy Glenn you are pissing Landry off. If you ever find yourself taking part in another on the field experience....watch your back.
