Loss alot respect for Fowler.... no way we keep 4 QBs....... many teams only keep two.

He'll get cut and we will try to sign him to the PS. He may sign with another team. I just dont see a trade partner out there.

Trade Dobbs for what? Plain stupid. No way I risk Ola making it through to the practice squad.

I honestly think we will keep him as player number 54. He will then get cut a couple of days after the other teams have already cut down. This will give us the best chance to get him to the PS. This also assumes that he is willing to play for our PS as opposed to going somewhere else.

That used to be more valuable when the draft was 17 rounds.

First Mr Irrelevant, Kelvin Kirk, pick 487, 1976.

He doesn't have any trade value.

If Dobbs played all Titans game and next game and balled out maybe, but as of now he doesn't have any.

Dobb's is not the player to trade. The guy to trade is LJ ... Dobb's is just as good as LJ now and only in his 2nd. year .

The only trade value would be if a team needed a back up to the extent they wanted to secure Dobbs before he hit the open market. But I wouldn’t see anyone offering much more than a 6th or 7th.

I seem to remember when we traded for Scobee he was also expected to get cut.

Neither has that much value. If any team is interested in Jones for a future back up they can wait and let the Steelers pay him 2.5 for the year and make a play for him in the off season when he is a free agent. Only a desperate team with needs for a starter is going to trade anything for these guys when both are not ready next Thursday to step in and play. Even Dobbs with the RPO would not know the terminology or verbiage of any teams offense to be effective from week one.

How often does a guy we cut and intend to sign to the practice squad actually get put on another team's roster? I feel like we unnecessarily worry about our cuts being highly valued elsewhere.

I know right. There’s some serious anxiety over some very marginal players around here.
Remember Thadius Gibson? “Oh my God we let a good one get away” Then Gibson is never heard from again.
Brian arnfelt, Nick Williams Terrence Garvin? One guy went on and on about Terrence Gavin having a breakout year then he got cut.

According to one guy here Eli Rogers was going to be a stud slot receiver for us for the next 10 years. This before he’d even seen the field in a regular season game. Yeah right!

I could name a bunch that were talked up to the point of arguments that went on to nothing.
I do think Dobbs has some value, but he’s not essential to our plans this year.

If it was up to some we’d field a team of 6-7th round draft picks and UDFA’s

It's a tough business. I hate to see the kid get cut. I like his athleticism and attitude. But, I don't see them keeping 4 QB's for any reason, much less cultivating a green second year pro for....... trade bait? Uh, no.

That would be dumb to keep Dobbs and then cut a player like Ola.

Honestly I think there was ano Olineman that was picked up by the jets 7 years ago and Josh Maruo that the Cardinal's actually did put on their 53 because BA needed DE's badly. Other than that I can't think of any one else.

    Ola getting cut? Over Dobbs?

Realisitcally though, who is getting cut assuming Dobbs somehow cracks the final 53?

they could have 3 tightends or 1 slightly bruised tightend, keeping a 4th QB isnt happening

Pretty much the consensus is Dobbs has really no trade value. Interesting.

Here someone's analysis of the top 10 worst teams in dire straights for QBs

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/10-worst-quarterback-situations-in-the-nfl/ss-AAzazP9

I was never under the impression that if this scenario did happen and Dobbs did get traded, that the Steelers wouldn't get better then a 6th round pick for him

but of course we did get a 3rd pick round for Martavis, which I was completely surprised about.

I wonder if the fans of any other team spend this much time debating their 4th quarterback situation. The decision on Josh Dobbs was made the second the Steelers drafted Rudolph.
