Take a moment to consider something amazing. Regardless of how frustrated we can get with the Steelers at times I thought it was noteworthy to point out that this will be the 50th straight season where we have had just THREE head coaches!

The average tenure of coaches in the NFL is just 3.3 years, seriously. For this remarkable consistency the Pittsburgh Steelers have won more games (457), playoff victories (36), postseason appearances (30), division titles (23), and as we all know most Super Bowl victories (6)... and counting.

That AZ SB just seems like yesterday. Went from a high ( Harrison pick). To a low ( Safety; Fitz two TD's to take the lead). Back to a high ( Holmes catch & run where Francisco fell down. Then him catching that TD). My biggest fear was seeing Fitz catch some crazy TD with 10 seconds left or something. I was more relieved than excited when we recovered the fumble. What a game. Might be the best football game I've ever watched.

When we were down 31-25 to GB with a minute plus left, I was convinced history would repeat itself. My heart sunk when that 4th down play to Wallace failed.

Nice! And all this with a current owner with the same name as the owner 50 years ago (actually 85 years ago). :steelflag:

No other team is even close. Most teams have had at least 10 different HCs since 1969. Patriots included... even with the evil reign of Belichick.

This is the kind of consistency a lot of fans just don't understand, especially Charger fans!

I’m surprised this post made it this far without a one watt numbskull finding a way to be negative.

Proud to be a Stillers fan.

I made a choice on which NFL team I wanted to observe and admire since 2008.

After finding out more about their history since then and how consistent and stable they have been, I think it is safe to say I made a good decision...

.... Well, my avatar also playing a major factor into that decision as well.

Add Vikings, Chiefs, Bills, Titans, Falcons, Redskins and others to that list as well.

Yes, there have been recent surges and microbursts within time for these franchise's, none of them have acquired even half that time frame of continuity.

Call me a numbskull but so what? This is such an arbitrary thing. Maybe that means this team holds onto coaches too long and are just lucky to be in the position they are in?
