You missed the point again.

 

This seems very Larry Foote Esq to me. It's not that I don't like Vince but I think he is a backup and not a starter. Pass defense will suffer if he's in coverage at all. We already know his run stuffing ability needs to get better and is limited. His speed is the slowest of the group. He doesn't force turnovers. I just don't see the major benefit to this signing. JMO.

I would take a Larry Foote on this team in a heartbeat. He was a solid if unspectacular inside linebacker. I never got the dislike of him.

 

it was being carried 5-6 yards downfield trying to make a tackle that was the problem.

 

I don't know about that he had his yearly thing out in AZ and I'm pretty sure he didn't exclude anyone who wanted to join...he is a lead by example player. Maybe if Bud wanted help he should of grown some balls and asked ...IMO

Yeah I guess you are. I don't know man,like I said he had the AZ thing going on and I doubt guys had to beg to be a part of it. Did Dupree ask Chuck Smith for help or Smith volunteered out of the kindness of his heart. I'm not going to rehash the whole JH saga. Honestly I'm not the type of person to ask for help for anything either ,that being said I do my damn best to make sure it gets done.
I'm just really down on Dupree because to me he talks too much. He has all the natural ability in the world and he seems to be wasting it. Actions speak louder than words...I'm from the speak softly but carry a big stick camp.I really hope he steps up this year and helps us win a SB and proves me wrong....

I wasn't sure. The first one was the only article I could find about JH being at the practice facility recently. It seemed to me like the Pittsburgh media would have made a big deal out of it if accurate. They blow up way less.

 

Had to sign Vince, what's the other choice? Solid up front and early but anything breaking middle with any speed, problem. Brady to Gronk or one of his current route runners, anyone? Again problem. Still, had no choice he's stout and as solid as they come in basics.

 

Bud talks to much? Other than media interviews I donto remember him talking at all. Are you referring to the comments about Harrison not helping younger guys out and going with the group to visit Shazier? Just curious.

 

Idk mostly the Harrison stuff but he's come out recently blaming their struggles on the newness of the scheme. He's talking " leverage" like his coach. He was claiming his lack of production was because he was dropping something like 70% of the time according to him. When in fact Watt dropped more often and had a much bigger impact on the D and I'm not talking just sacks. Watt shows up on the field,there are games were you didn't even know Dupree was playing. We've heard all the excuses from not having a position coach in college to injury holding him back. He doesn't stick his nose in the fan. I've seen him watching and standing around the scrum much too often for my taste. He's a monster physically and athletically gifted,he just doesn't seem like a football player though. We rolled the dice on the 5th year optin but I'd be worried about him after he signed a contract if he finally earns one this year...
I just get bummed when I see someone with such a great opportunity and talent and seemingly doing nothing with it....especially when he plays for the team I love.....

 

Nothing wrong with that. You should watch that Ward interview with Williams it will hit you in the feels.

YEah when I said Williams I meant Scotland-Williams. Just because you mentioned a guy who is living the dream to play for his favorite team

Edit: Christian had never followed football until the Cards/Steelers SB and decided he was a Steelers fan and then to have the opportunity to play for them and be thankful every day he is the type of guy you pull for.
