Are you worried?

I think if the defense can stop the run, we can be good; but I've never seen so many poor angles and missed tackles by the Steelers Defense in a VERY long time.

 

I care, it cost them 2 games. One game could have lead to HMA, the other could have advanced them in the playoffs. On average, it actually is a yearly problem. 15 pick sixes thrown in his career, lil over one per season. He's tied for 17th all time. The D can't prevent it, but the D has to answer for it. I bet the Jags think he's known for it.

 

Seen that lowlight, it looked like Brian Allen got beat & Nat Berhe took a bad angle ...not good

 

This game is all on Tomlin.

This was his plan all week long; to remove all the veteran leaders from the game and just basically play in chaos.

Mason was definitely not ready to play against GB's starting defense and the Steelers defense played without any kind of leadership on the field.

This is Tomlin's typical preseason week 2; just does not work out when your opponent does not have the same preseason philosophy.

I haven't seen that quote from Butler, but if he said it, why?
Why not run the guys in the defense during preseason, that you're going to run in the regular season?

Does that make sense to anyone else? Let's not get any reps in our regular defense in the preseason. Save it for the regular season.

 

It’s not the point of the points scored against the defense, they just don’t looked like they improved from last year regardless who is on the field. Tackling, miscommunication, lack of talent. I know Aaron Rogers is all world but Huntley and Kizer? Our backups are that bad? What was or who was a bright spot on defense?
The defense looked like last year defense that actually had the starters and we gameplanned.

It's all my fault guys. I drank my morning coffee out of the regular season cup instead of the preseason cup Thursday morning. I knew it was going to go bad.

Defense is as bad as I can imagine

 

its the pre-season! why be worried? Not all the starters are playing. Vanilla looks. Doesn't anyone remember the year Detroit went undefeated in the pre-season and lost every regular season game? Until it starts to count and they are losing, then I'll be worried.

Preseason isn't about winning or losing, it's about looking prepared and executing. I saw neither from the defense last night.

 

There was actually a Bud Dupree sighting. IIRC, he got a sack!

 

Against an OT who will be on the PS or the street in a few weeks.

 

I'm not worried about the offense or special teams. Those units will be up to standard. The defense is the weak link. Not just the ILBs... the entire D.

 

They were moving him inside at times to blitz the middle too. Didn't help that Chic wasnt doing much.

 

I hope Watt is available in September or things are gonna get ugly quick.
