Dirty Laundry can put up all of the pretty numbers that he wants, we already know that he's garbage in the regular season games. All he's doing is hurting the team by making them think that he's better than he really is. Come game time it's back to the deer in headlights piece of crap. ( unless it's vs the stains) and Ben better play more than just 1 or 2 preseason quarters if he wants to get into game ready shape. We don't need another 80 pass attempt game to get the rust off like last season

Have to disagree...I think LJ is a very capable backup QB who knows the system well. No, he won't perform at a Big Ben level, but he can win us a couple games if Ben goes down. I don't get the hatred for LJ on this board. Not every NFL team has a Nick Foles on their roster. Has to be a tough gig to have to go into a game cold when the starting QB goes down.

Landry has become a decent backup QB. Steelers certainly know how to stick with a player.

I think they name Landry the number 2 QB coming out of camp. I think Mason will be 3. If Ben is going to miss only a game or 2, I would think Landry gets the start. But if Ben were to miss an extended amount of time, I think they start Mason. Hopefully we dont see any QB other than #7 once the pre-season ends.

Me and his stats disagree with you. 5 games started 3-2 63% completion rating 8 TD's 7 Ints. = Garbage Mason woke both of these goats up, now they have to try, both of them have somebody looking over their shoulder.

Even with extended amount of time LJ will be the starter you dont bench your backup for a green tomatoe rookie QB like MR, the only way LJ would get pulled from the lineup is if he lost a couple games in row and they decide it was his fault they lost them, sometimes games are lost by other players besides the QB, LJ is the backup and he will stay the number 2 whether it's for 2 games or 10 games........

Winning record. Strong completion percentage. More TDs than INTs. He's a serviceable backup.

I'm expecting a whole lot of penalties from Pitt in the 10 range or more, and the eagles will get their share as well, it's gonna be flag day....

In case you haven't noticed, Ben usually "barely" beats the Browns too.

When MT plays an Injured Ben instead of a healthy LJ that has to tell you something . Been many games where Ben shouldn't have played. Like said above 2 of the wins were against the stains.

I'm as big of a fan as Rudolph as anyone.

I don't Landry Jones is the future, but as a back up, he's ok. 3-2 record as a starter.

I don't have a problem wit Landry as the backup. He can fillin in a pinch.

I do think Rudolph is the heir apparent but he may need some time. Now if Ben were to miss a 4 game stretch I do think Rudolph would be Thurs into action quicker.

If Rudolph holds the clip board all 2018, I have no issues. His time will come.

Naah. If its me, and its a long term Ben injury I would have to go with the kid. You know what you have in Landry. Lets say it would be for a 8 game stretch. Landry might get you 4-4. Thats his ceiling. Rudolph on the other hand is a wildcard. If he is as dynamic as advertised, he might just go on a tear and get you 7-1 in the same stretch. A lot of ifs there, but think of what Ben did in 04' when Maddox went down.

I’m more than biased about Mason, but I agree with this assessment. Don’t forget that he’s throwing to a bunch of receivers that are still learning the route trees. Mason consistently got better at ball security as he progressed and matured. As a Frosh, he threw an interception on 4.6% of his passes. The next year it was 2.1%, then 0.9% during his Junior year. As a Senior, some injuries on the offensive line put him under a lot more pressure, but he still only threw a pick on 1.8% of his throws.

As he gains confidence and builds chemistry with his receivers, he should improve, as your breakdown shows.
