That's good but more than TJ last year, 1.2m more on the signing bonus. Edmunds better be good.

As I said, offset language and the fourth year guaranteed amounts.

The initial value was $5.8 million. Now, it is $6 million.

Overall though, glad it all worked out. Now, the focus can get back to him getting ready for Training Camp.

Glad both parties got a deal done before camp. Edmunds cant afford to miss a second if hes going to do all the things everyone is expecting him to do.

Agreed they're putting extremely high expectations on him.

"The 6-foot, 217-pound Edmunds provides versatility on the Steelers' defense, and he can play on the back end of coverage as a safety or chip in at linebacker if needed. His ability to play linebacker could pay off as the Steelers seek to fill the absence of Ryan Shazier."

He is the answer for the absence of Ryan Shazier. Seeing he's not even a line-backer, extremely high expectations. I'll be pulling for him. Like the kid and want to see him succeed. They're asking a lot of him.

Ryan Shazier can't be replaced. And when people say..."The Steelers were getting ran all over with Shazier in 2017." Yes, that's true because the D-line were getting blown off the line and losing in the trenches vs. Bears, Jaguars, etc. The D-line has to do their jobs for any Linebacker to succeed... I don't care if it's Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, Jason Gildon or Ryan Shazier... if the D-line sucks, the linebackers are going to suffer.

I'd go with more of a sign of the NFL business. Salary cap up 6% over last year, and agents have always increased contracts year over year for rookies.

VA Tech Hokies fan here. Hokies players drafted high on the D-side tend to do well in the NFL. Let's hope Edmunds makes a smooth transition because the Steelers D needs somebody to step up.

Either Bud Foster or Justin Fuente stated that Edmunds is reminiscent of a more explosive, faster Kam Chancellor.

ILB is much more of any issue than anything else. As of right now I don’t feel at all comfortable with that group stopping the run.
