we will be a fast hard hitting defense that cant stop the run lol. if our offense lives up to expectations, and defense creates turnovers I'm cool with it.

Unless 2018 Bostic becomes the next 2004 Farrior, run D is gonna be a liability especially against teams with good RBs like Jags, Chiefs, Saints, etc.

He's 230 pounds. That's nonsense that the 13 pound difference is all it takes to counter a 300 pound lineman.

    :hmm:

So specific analytics and science such as Newton's Three Laws of Motion and Kinematics can be ignored in American Gridiron Football?

If so, great players like Telvin Smith and Deone Bucannon should not play at all. For that matter, add the likes of Ryan Shazier, Deion Jones, Known Alexander and Sean Lee (when healthy) the same.

I prefer finding safeties who can play safety and linebackers who can play linebacker. They're usually running around presnap scratching their heads and bumping into each other, and that's in standard packages. Maybe get that sorted out first.

That's why we added coaches that can bring it together and did away with players that couldn't.

Yup, that's a start. Next step, do away with coach who can't.

This. LBs consistently miss tackles, Safeties take horrible angles and DEs get blown off the line against better teams. It's a recipe for disaster.

F-n' right on. All that running around confuses us more than the opponent's O. It's MORONIC.

And once again took 2 years longer to figure out these moves than smart teams.

We still have some coaches that need to either move on with their life's work or move to the NCAA ranks.

    Good responses.

Comparing the weight of Terrell Edmunds to Shazier. Ultimately it's not that big of a difference. Probably more of a difference is that Shazier is more used to playing in that role with the skills to shed/miss blockers/ read plays, etc

Looking back at the Jaguar's game, the defensive line as a whole really lost the battle. LT Walton, #96, especially got manhandled leading to some big runs.

Maybe it'll work, but we need the guys up front to get penetration and disrupt blocking schemes. Think we have some good ones, and not to pick on Walton, but he was a clear liability in that game that got dominated at the line.

I think some of the head scratching was fixed when Mike Mitchell left.
