No, but spit-takes are a laughing matter. Sure, it's a bit of a tired, old joke, but it can still be effective when timed properly.

It is not the same thing as drinking until one vomits, which is clearly not funny despite the fact that the writers of many so-called comedies seem to think it is hysterical.

To be clear, this is a semi-serious post expressing my wonder at what the heck we are even talking about at this point.

I know, I read the posts. I was adding some drolleries (look it up, I did!) to the conversation. ;)

Using smaller Rover types will work. You need bigger DL and more of them on the LOS. I stated a few years back that this was coming .It's really the best way to defend spread attacks that feature pass catching scat types of RB'S and Athletic flex types of TE'S .

The next position to start losing value is the OLB . Teams will need to go bigger there as well and use more 5 man fronts . In all the ways we tried to defend the concept the NFL is now running the 5-1-5 was by far the best and gave you the most options vs. any set.

Wrong, doesn't have to be career ending. Not being overdramatic. Only played 7 games in 2016. Rumors stated was playing banged up, ghost injured all last season. Hopefully that was it played quite subpar. He has shoulder issues. Injured in OTA's this year. Personally I hope he can finally "Put it all together", just reserved in this case. Big year for Dupree.

Ive been to Austin once. Friends live down there. Another friend decided to run the Austin marathon. The rest of us decided to get away from the PA winter and go to Austin where it’s warm. It snowed in Austin. :no2:

Nope going to fix it with technique, scheme and everyone flowing to the ball. That's they Lloyd and Greene dud it, that's they way Porter and Haggis did it, that's the way Harrison and Woodley did it, THAT'S THE WAY THE STEELERS DO IT.THAT'S THE WAY 'ME RICA DOES IT AND IT'S WORKED PRETTY GOOD SO FAR.

Why did you mention all OLBs (none of which as small as TE) while their plan is to use TE as an INSIDE LB? It seems like a non sequitur.

I don't know if you recall our game vs. KC last year, but they tried a version of a S playing ILB on us. Bell gouged them for 179. Now granted, it was S Sorenson trying to play it, and not the phenomenal Eric Berry, who is one of the best college players I have ever seen (and a great NFL player). But Pgh destroyed the S playing ILB line up, bad. Does that mean Pgh will also get tore up vs. the rush when using it? No. But it is food for thought.

I understand your concern, but we really don’t know for sure how they’re going to use TE. I personally would have preferred that they drafted an ILB. They didn’t, but I have confidence that they have a plan.
I’m not going to get all worked up about hypothetical situations.

Because those players defined the defense at those times. They aren't going to have Edmunds run towards the line leap over the blockers and make a shoe string tackle. They are going to maintain gap integrity, they are going to force the RB east and west and gang tackle as a team. That is the Steeler way.
