I just don't see it happening. Journeyman at best with poor coverage skills.

We may only carry 4 this year.... Dirty Red, Williams LJ Fort and ?????

I thought this was a joke.

They can lose Forte easy if they need room.

Bostic isn't going anywhere. One of 2 top FA signings for them this offseason. He's better then he is getting credit for.

Bostic is good against the run, which is what the Steelers need he will make the 53.

The guy had 97 tackles last year, 25th most in the NFL. Hardly chicken scratch. And he had little help as Indy had a pretty weak group in front of him, which wrecks an ILB's #'s.

By the way, he had more tackles than ANY Pgh Steeler last season. And you think he won't make the team.

Didn't they give him a signing bonus, too? He ain't going anywhere.

The Rooneys are no fans of throwing $1.4 million away, plus his 1st year might be guaranteed too.

If it depends on coverage skills then none of the ILB's currently on the roster will make the team.

One thing I have learned from playing fantasy football is that the league leading tacklers are usually on the worst teams. Bostic's tackles will not be that high on the Steelers. I do hope he can plug some holes & get to the ball-carrier like Timmons use to. We do need to upgrade the ilb slots, maybe next year the brass will find some youngsters they like.

Brunette and Nate both are more critical FA signings.

Also right now Fort is probably our best cover ILB and he know the system and teammates. He'll make the roster.

Bostic is at BEST our 4th best ILB...... He won't see many defensive snaps unless several injuries occur. That leaves him at best a STer......

So...... If Mathew or either of our two PS ILBer from last steps up and shows something in Pre-season it'll be the end of Bostic....

If he doesn't go on IR first!!!

It is garbage. Steelers gave up 47 points to the Jaguars. The Jags are not exactly a juggernaut on offense. There was no excuse to lose like that at home, in a playoff game. That was a piss poor performance by the D-line and Linebackers. I could understand the Patriots, Packers (with Rodgers) or Saints dropping 47 on a Steelers D with backups at ILB. Those teams own the Steelers. But the Jags?!?!

Many years ago the Steelers cut their leading tackler. He was so bad, the other teams would run right at him. Sure he made the tackle, but it was after a 6 yard gain.

Jon Bostic accepted a team friendly deal worth $800,000 for 2018 and an acceptable salary of $1.8 million in 2019. This is on top of a $1.4 million prorated signing bonus. The 2018 cap hit is $1.5 million for 2018 and $2.5 million for 2019, according to Ian Whetstone.
