This year will be a major test on the fan base, IMO. Steelers won't be so lucky this year with injuries to opposing QBs like they were in 2017. I don't see them winning anywhere near 13 games in 2018. 10 wins will be ceiling... and that is being very optimistic. 9 wins may be enough to win the North.

How anyone can defend Tomlin anymore is beyond me. I understand that it will take a lot to remove him because of how the Steelers operate but he is not a good head football coach, anyone who follows the Steelers closely knows this. And if you want to talk about regular season records well with the talent he has most of the wins are in spite of him not because of him.

I'm not much of a Tomlin fan, but this is silly.

All I know is what I am reading about how the players are feeling and responding positively to two new key defensive coaches. That is a big plus in fixing our problems.

Good deal Troy. Bet you would like my Browning 1971. Strips like an Astra. Which I took one off of a dead NVA soldier. Hey, he wasn't going to use it. 2 Magazines an NCO belt and holster came with it. Go Steelers. Can't miss with a judge I bet.

I have a friend that has a judge, he loves it. I haven't shot it though. The Taurus wheel guns are right up there in quality. As I said the technology was heavily from Taurus to S&W between the two.

In your early years Sarge, wasn't browning the main side arm brand in the military? The 1911? 45 Cal.. Did you prefer it over the 9 mil.? Go Stillers.

Fans of the 1911 cite its stopping power. Fans of the 9mm like the extra 8 rounds and less recoil. It's a personal preference kind of thing.

I went 9mm vs 45 based solely on the fact I have better aim with the 9. I figured if I miss what I’m aiming at, the extra stopping power is irrelevant. I had a Ruger 357 that had nice engraving from 1976. Couldn’t hit crap with it. Traded it for a Glock.

    :herewego!:

Have a S&W SD40VE that is every bit and maybe more compared to the glocks. I paid far less too. Not a huge fan of them. Personal preference I guess. I love my Taurus model 65 357. At least for a wheel gun. My CCW guns are both S&W. Bodyguard 380 and M&P shield 40. Go Stillers.

Mac, In 1967/8/9 I carried a Colt .45, 1911 type in Vietnam. In 1988 the Marine reserves got the Beretta 9 MM. in 1992 the regular active Corps got the Beretta. I like the Beretta way better. I actually have one. Also Mac, I see I forgot to say. My Browning 1971 is a .380 auto
1971 is the year it was made

That's right Colt was the 45. Not sure why I thought it was a Browning. Check out some fiocci xtp rounds for that 380. Good carry round. Go Stillers.

I have some Freedom that I been using, Dug out tip's and split tips aka dum dum's. Fiocci is the least expesive ammo I can find for .380. About $239 for 1,000 rounds and free shipping. Works well goes bang when I pull the trigger. I don't use Freedom .380 cause it is 100 grain. Breaks my guns LOL

I carry the fiocci extrema xtp. The testing has proved they preform right near the top and better than many of the supposed top and more expensive hollow points. I run 90 grain. Excellent penatration and consistent expansion.
Go stillers, take the North.

Fiocci Ball is 95 gr. I like that also like 92 gr for targets. My Freedom AP rounds are also 90 rg
BTW I have over 5,000 rounds sitting in my bedroom. Folks say that is extreem up north. Here down South, it is "just Sarge down the street who is a little short on ammo" Haha

Anyway, back to the original thread. Fast guys flying to the ball and gang tackling will do wonders for the run defense. I'm betting Dunbar and Bradley are coaching that. Berhe, Allen, Burnett, Davis and Edmund's could be a nice group of guys to do this with. Our corners need to do the same in run support.

If I recall, Dallas in the 90's constructed that type of defense. Seemed to work for them well enough.

The Steelers don't win in spite of MT, however they sometimes lose critical playoff games due to his limitations. Seattle lost to the Pats in the super bowl because of arguably the worst play call in sports history. Atlanta lost to the Pats in the super bowl because the qb took a 12 yard sack instead of kicking the winning field goal. The Steelers lost last year's playoff game due to the asinine on-sides kick. We have a coach like Atlanta and Seattle, not like the Pats. Cowher said there is a fine line between winning and losing. MT will always be on the losing side of that equation against Belicheat. Maybe he wins those games against Atlanta and Seattle, but he can't win against a coach as shrewd as Belicheat.

The Jags with Tom Coughlan (sp?) involved have become very competitive. They play very sound and don't lose games due to coaching blunders. The Jags will be competitive for a long time.

And the Pats lost in the Super Bowl to the Eagles because of Belicheat.

I suppose Bill Belichick is the most infallible coaching entity to ever exist within the history of professional sports!!

Seriously missed the news on that one! I should be quite ashamed for pointing out the flaws in the "most efficacious and all mighty knowing one"! For example
    ;

    - Benching Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl.

    - Having both Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia coach everyone in the Super Bowl.

    - Having Tom Brady to attempt to win the big game all on his own.

    Most importantly

    - Not being engaged with any of his coaches or players during the game
    .

Such transcendent levels of genius! In fact, I am in such awe of his brilliance, I wish Mike Tomlin were just like him!! :lolol:

    .... In all seriousness though....

Let's face it we were riddled with injuries last year at key spots. Shazier, matakevich, tuitt, Hargreaves, haden, Mitchell. Our DBs under performed and our D line under performed. We have addressed some of those issues. Guys are back healthy and talking about how new coaching is helping already. This is a recipe for success. Sit back and enjoy. This should be fun to watch.:smiley1::cool:
