Scenario, Mason had a great camp and plays well in Pre-Season. We get into the season and Ben has a 5 interception game like he did against Jacksonville? Do you pull Ben and put Mason in? Or let Ben ride it out?

Let Ben ride it out. Ben usually has one or two "wtf" games every year.

Leave Ben in, no question. You don't take out your starting quarterback because he lays an egg. If he did it consistently for several weeks, then it might be time to look at it.

Other teams like the Browns do things like this and it kills their consistency or their ability to overcome mistakes and improve. I'd hate to see the Steelers start having knee-jerk reactions like that.

Then Mason comes in and throws 8 interceptions because he's not ready and now the whole situation is fubar.

    Let Ben ride it out.

He has recovered before. He is capable of doing it again.

It obvious you make the other 52 members of the team suffer because Ben has to have his **** the bed game so he can ponder whether he has got it anymore and we can discuss what a huge distraction AB beating up the gatorade jug is. Why is this even a question I mean come on of course they waste an entire week of practice, game planning, and hard work for everyone involved so Ben can go my bad. Jeez

The only way Ben yields to Rudolph this season is through injury.

Well, he tends to have more trouble against those fronts like the Eagles and Jacksonville plays.

Not that he can't still rip them apart, but he makes really dumb throws and turnovers in those games.

Yank Ben. Team first. Get the win. Start Ben next game. Not worried about his feelings.

The Steelers were only down by 11 going into the last quarter, so Ben doesn't come out at that point.

After Ben had his 5th INT, they got the ball back with 1:44 left in the game.
The last drive was 3 Conner runs to end the game.
What would be the point of putting in Randolph at that point?

If you mean replace Ben with Mason after that game...
The Steelers (with Ben) went 10-1 after the Jaguars game (and it should have been 11-0.)

people we have a new offensive coordinator, its going to be a different offense this year, there probably wont even be a two interception game, Ben plays/starts every game barring injury, then its Landry (Mason's teacher)... LJ Strock... for 2018... I don't think Mason sees the field this year

Dosent matter. It's the fact that you are asking the question that's the problem. Imagine what the media will do if your scenario takes place. The media will create a controversy and Ben will no doubt say something stupid to further the controversy. It would almost be more conducive to winning a Super Bowl this year if Rudolph sucks. Then no one will be clamoring for him to get in.

5 interceptions, what do I do?

Easy...come on here and bi&th & moan and tell everyone how I told you this would happen if we didn't do x,y,z. Even though a couple days earlier I said we need to do a, b, c, which is the exact opposite of x, y, z but no one paid attention to that so I'm good :lolol:

Then I tell Ben to get his chin strap on.

On the local radio shows after Jacksonville there were callers calling for the Steelers to do just that, and Dobbs sucks. People will be calling for Rudolph even after a medocire Ben game. I hope Ben just lights up the sky from day one so we don't have to deal with any of that.

Its inevitable. Mason has a lot of potential but fans are turning him into a can't miss prospect. And then there are the fans who can't stand Ben and can't wait to move on from him.

If Ben struggles at all, the chants will begin.
