And the difference was after 2016 they still kept that POS Haley; in 2017 Ben knew Todd was toast balls, so he felt no need to send message.

Tell me once you are of thinking of retiring, and then tell me 5 times you aren’t, and I’m still planning for your retirement.

    Fool me once, ....

It doesn't matter when he said it, the fact that he said it at all makes the team have to act in their best interest. It's pretty inevitable that it will happen sooner rather than later. As they say, father time is undefeated. The team can draft 3 qbs a year if they want too and they don't need Ben's permission. He needs to shut up, get his old butt ready for a long season and play winning football, not whining football.

    Oh yes he did!

This article was in January and Ben was disputing that he'd committed to 3 more years. He said it was one year at a time. I even read recently in all of this Rudolph drama that Ben is taking it year to year, depending on health, family, etc. And he wonders why the Steelers are keeping an eye on the future.

He's pulling a Brett Favre, he wants the team to beg him to stay at the end of each season, truth is he is insecure, he said he will evaluate his future after each season, leaving the steelers with no choice but to prepare for his retirement at a time of his choosing, therefore they had to draft a QB to say we arent waiting for you to retire we are going to get ready for you to retire....

From the article: The Pittsburgh Steelers annual rookie minicamp got underway on Friday and we are pleased to pass along the news that quarterback Mason Rudolph, the team’s first of two third-round draft picks this year, has now been contracted by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Great! It now appears that Rudolph has been CONTRACTED to become Ben's lawn boy! And we had our hopes up that Ben had actually CONTACTED Rudolph.

Ben, you've got to be nicer to the kid. Just because you're a HOFer in waiting and he's a rookie gives you no right to treat him this way. This goes way beyond a rookie hazing.;):lolol:

I think Ben acted like a dick but I don't actually think it matters. It is fun to talk about when there is nothing else to talk about but I don't believe it will have any impact on how the team plays.

Just a thought. I lived in a fraternity back in the dark ages. Everybody would help everybody. But, we weren’t limited to 53 members with a minimum salary of a about a half million dollars. If so, I don’t think many would help anyone trying to get a spot let alone take their spot.

Although, it was a pretty intelligent group. We would have stayed off of 93.7 The Fan.

Yeah drafting all these QBs and not having enough depth on defense will get you sent home early in the playoffs again .

It’s possible that not drafting QBs has the potential to not even give us that opportunity in the future?

Who cares? I want to win now, they need to win a SB while they still have a hall of fame QB.

The Bears defense is better than their offense , it was also early in the season the Steelers offense wasn't in sync yet. Bryant was still rusty, and they had that whole anthem controversy.

That's why you need to win a SB when you have that window.
