As recently as late Feb, some mocks had us taking him in the 1st. To get him in the 5th is a steal

They should just have Edmunds gain 10 pounds, since they ignored the position.

The Steelers could be a natural fit; Pittsburgh needs safety depth, Allen has a long-standing relationship with general manager Kevin Colbert, and the Maryland native visited with his childhood team last week. Depending on what they do in the first round, Allen would also fit with the Seahawks, Panthers and Chargers.

I actually like Marcus Allen. He, Ronnie Harrison, Kylie White, and Terrell Edmunds were all in the same group of guys I liked as strong safety prospects in the 3rd or later.

Hopefully we draft a free safety at some point. Damon Webb from Ohio St or maybe Quenton Meeks out of Stanford

A retired 58 year old is going to replace Bell?

Considering I had insufficient knowledge of Avery's injury, I retract my statement.

Marcus Allen is definitley a box safety who will likely see the field in conjunction with Edmunds; Edmunds playing the second linebacker as a sub while Allen is the Strong Safety.

Very good pick indeed. He was a late third round grade for me. Great value here.

Bradley just called Allen fundamentally sound. Again reoccurring themes throughout the draft and free agency.

It's not like he's much smaller than Shazier was when we picked him. I guess the question is can Jerry O and Joey P coach him up enough to transition.

How many box safeties do they need? They could use a single high type safety.
