Maybe when things settle down I'll get the time to go throug this entire thread but....

When Derwin James slipped past #10 and then #15, how much talk was there of trading up to get him? Especially when news broke of us trading Bryant and getting the #79.

    I know I was:smiley1:

Keep thinking that. Had Vick not gotten locked up you would see how great petrino is at molding QBs.

This morning as I skim articles they are classifying the Steelers as one of losers with their 1st pick and calling it a head scratcher.

    That's how I see it, too. I can't say I love the player and I certainly don't like him as a first-rounder.

One rumor is that the Steelers traded Bryant for that third-round pick hoping to flip it as part of a package to move up in the first round, but couldn't get that deal done. I was hoping they were adding ammunition to move up and get Edwards. Once I saw that the Bills beat them to it, I pretty much resigned myself to being disappointed with day one of the draft. Then the Steelers surprised me by making it even worse by reaching for Edmunds.

Since Edmunds was at the draft, he must have had a first round grade. Unless he was one of the potential slips the NFL likes to exploit to maintain viewership and interest.

I think most had him as a 2nd round grade. I was surprised he was at the draft but may have been there to support his brother.

Of course they were. They could’ve traded back 5 times and still gotten him. Or have chosen Michel, Landry, Reid, etc.

Steve Smith Sr. on NFL Network just now asked, "What kind of trees do tea leaves grow on?"

They need to get Smith off the camera, all he has been doing is running his mouth and talking over everyone.Lat night it looked like Aikman wanted to whoop his ass from some of the things Smith was saying..

It'd be intersting had the Steelers not gone CB last year cos there seemed to be beter value at that position late this year.

He said today that he and the family were there mostly to support his brother but after the bills picked him they were back in the green room and the possibility was there if only slightly. Their main focus was supporting Tremaine

I heard Guice went home and is not in the green room tonight, if that is true that sucks man that is a crappy move by him imo.

I will like the Edmunds pick more only if they are able to go up and get Landry or someone
